Async Resource Creation option cause in some places far water flicker. It’s very well seen in Darkmoon Island, Isle of Thunder, Lion’s Landing Scenario (MOP). It’s a very long white line along the whole horizon that flickers. To reproduce that: Open Character Info tab or Warband Collections tab (Pets or Mounts) in places I mentioned. Be in a spot where horizon is well seen.
The only way to get rid of that is turning off Async Resource Creation or lower Liquid Detail to Low or Fair. This is very poor “solution” becouse one option makes game looks bad and other one reduce fps.
Here are examples how it looks like. On the screenshot white line is static but in game it flickers.
In cata classic it also applies to all water surfaces. The water is flickering nearly every other frame. If i disable “Async Resource Generation” the flickering is gone. 4090 on with geforce game ready driver 566.36 (same problem with studio driver).
It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one having this issue (I bug-reported this in-game a good while ago).
Appreciate the workaround options, even if they are not perfect.
C’mon Blizz execs! The number of annoying bugs in the game that don’t get fixed for ages (or ever) has noticably increased in Dragonflight and The War Within; stop cutting jobs and bleeding both your workers and your players dry for shareholder profit to the detriment of the game.
