Bug or not bug ? Share your opinion

So this is about Destro Warlock and iteration of Soul fire spell with Roaring Blaze talent and my question is - When you cast Soul fire and right after you finish casting it you cast Conflagrate on target Soul fire will not benefit from Roaring Blaze talent ( conflagrate increase dmg of your next Incineration, Conflagrate, Soul Fire, Channel Demonfire, immolate by 25%. Is this bug or not ? Conflagrate is instant and its effect is instantly on the target, Soul fire is projectile so should have some projectile speed = delay until it reach its target and thus benefit from conflagrate debuff from Roaring Blaze talent but it does not ! It render pvp stragety like - Succubus + Soul fire + Conflagrate + conflagrate + shadowfury + chaos bolt + chaos bolt useless. What do you think it is bug or not ?

It doesn’t sound like a bug, it seems more like the spell is snap shotted as soon as the cast is finished, so any buffs or effects that happen during its travel time won’t affect it.

I’m pretty sure that Chaos bolt works the same way with Eradication. If the debuff drops off during the travel time, the bolt is still buffed.

this.

Ok guys it is not bug than but still it could work the way i suggested

I agree and it would also make it way smoother to play imo

I have another question, bug or intended.

UA protection doesn’t work all the time, sometimes I had the feeling a balance druid dispelled Agony from himself even worth UA up.
Shouldn’t UA protect our dots from dispel?

Balance druids have a stupid amount of tankiness. It probably just got absorbed XD

not bug, just poor code design. ele shamans used to have same issue with their lavaburst and flame shock, and then got it fixed. It’s the same, when u cast chaosbolt on hunter, and he presses turtle while the chaosbolt in the air - logically he is save since turtle is up before CB reaches his butt, but … I have no clue whether it’s wow engine limitation or just devs don’t care.
That’s why pvp in this game will never become a serious E-sport discipline.

Chaos Bolt dmg is calculated after the cast is Finished. You need to use turtle before the wick finishes his cast. That’s how it works.

Because Balance Druids don’t dispel magic, they dispel curses. UA is magic, while Agony is a curse. Hence, when they use their dispel, it only targets and removes Agony, while not touching the UA and Corruption.

The same applies to Mage’s dispel.

UA’s dispel protection doesn’t work like this “If any of the DoTs are dispelled, UA’s backlash occurs”. Rather, its “If UA is dispelled, its backlash occurs”.

But UA should protect everything from a dispel. That’s not how it should work. Even if you only target one, UA should proc.

I just edited the message.

Ok then they nerfed it for SL, when they introduced it UA protected everything from dispel. It was way better back then, with this knowledge in happy they gutted affli

I’m pretty sure it’s always worked that way.

PVP talent maybe…

UA was introduced in TBC, with the text below;

“Shadow energy slowly destroys the target, causing 660 damage over 18sec. In addition, if the Unstable Affliction is dispelled it will cause 990 damage to the dispeller and silence them for 5sec.”

If I remember right in tbc it was a real protection. I don’t have beta access to test this.

Ok then I think I have other memory’s. Still like this it is weak, this should be a protection but don’t works like one… now I have no more fun in playing Affli…
