Bug report - can't add sockets to a timewalking ring

So during a time walking event I got a nice hero track ring Band of the Ranger-General, and I can’t add sockets to it, which severely diminishes its value.

Getting a good item from a timewalking cache is something you can get lucky once every several seasons.

You, dear Blizzard, claimed yesterday to have fixed it but said it’s not “retroactive”, so what is the worth of it? All frustrated players who reported it to you gain nothing of it. You calling it “a fix” is preposterous.

And I am not even mentioning that some folk got Prism of Inner Calm in their cache, a worthless garbage of a trinket for every single spec in this game.

Hi Heartful,

I’m not sure what you’re intending to report, since the bug you describe was indeed fixed, as you note:

I can agree that it’s not ideal that it doesn’t help for existing items, but I hope you can still get another upgrade to use the socket on soon enough!

Hello, Tyrskorn!

The chances to get another ring from Cache of Timewarped Treasures is roughly around 3%. You can get only 1 Cache per event and timewalking events occurr every 3 weeks if I am not mistaken. With that in mind my chances of getting another timewalking hero track level ring are probably in another year at best.

I now have an amazing hero level ring with perfect stats that could be my bis well into the entire season, if only I could add 2 sockets to it, but I can’t.

Thus for me and other people like me, who got their ring or jewelry from cache, the bug is not fixed, we’re still stuck with the rings that cannot be socketed because of the bug.

I suspect that your leadership figured out that correcting this bug for existing items is time consuming and is not worth it and that I and other like me should abandon any hope of getting our bugged items fixed, but that only confirms that the bug has not been fixed and there are no plans to fix it.
