Hi everyone,
I’ve been playing a lot of Demonology Warlock and have run into several consistent and highly disruptive pet-related bugs in specific dungeons. I wanted to document them here to raise awareness and hopefully get feedback—maybe some of you have experienced the same issues or have workarounds.
These bugs are particularly problematic for Demonology, og pet related classes where much of the damage relies on building and maintaining a pet army. The Doomguard spawned by Curse of Doom is especially problematic, as it can’t be dismissed manually and is often the root cause of accidental pulls.
General Overview of Bugs by Dungeon:
The Workshop
• Start area pet bug: At the dungeon’s start, pets (including summoned demons) can get stuck outside the tunnel and become unresponsive until you move further in or resummon.
Priory of Sacred Flame
• Final room imp pathing bug: After the second boss, if you engage the side patrols before the mini-boss, imps often run directly into the center and trigger the mini-boss. This seems to happen about 50% of the time.
Cinderbrew Meadery
• Pre-boss pulls from Doom spawns: If a demon (Wild Imp, Doomguard, etc.) spawns from Curse of Doom before or during the pre-boss pull, it can aggro mobs early—particularly risky before the bee boss.
Darkflame Cleft
• Doomguard pull bug when gate-skipping: Using Demonic Gateway to skip to the third boss can result in the Doomguard pulling mobs behind you—even if they’re out of LoS. Since the Doomguard can’t be dismissed, you just have to wait it out.
Theater of Pain (ToP)
• Imps reset after portals: Every time you use a portal between wings, all imps despawn or stop functioning. This severely impacts throughput for Demonology.
The Rookery
• Post-boss pet lag/freeze: After jumping down following the first boss, pets—especially the Doomguard—often get stuck at the top and delay or pull mobs. Again, since the Doomguard can’t be dismissed, you’re forced to wait or risk accidental pulls.
The Floodgate
• Paraglider pull bug: When using the paraglider across the water, pets can lag behind and trigger mobs mid-flight or on landing. Doomguard is particularly bad for this.
Discussion & Feedback
Have any of you encountered these issues as well? Are there other dungeons or bugs I haven’t mentioned? I’d especially love to hear any strategies for managing Doomguard behavior—it’s easily the worst offender since it can’t be dismissed and often ends up pulling unintended packs during skips or transitions.
It’s frustrating to have to constantly dismiss and rebuild my pet setup, especially when pushing keys where setup time and pull control are critical. Would love to see some fixes or even just an option to dismiss Doomguard manually, or just make pets NOT able to pull aggro
