Bug Report - Hunter Trap Behavior on “Classic Era” Server

Hello,
I’m reaching out to report an issue I encountered while playing a hunter character on a « Classic Era » server. Specifically, this pertains to the use of the following trap abilities: Frost Trap, Freezing Trap, Immolation Trap, and Explosive Trap. When placing a trap directly on an enemy, I noticed that the trap does not trigger immediately. Instead, there is a delay, and in some cases, the trap doesn’t trigger at all if the enemy moves away before remaining on the trap for a certain period.Furthermore, I have experienced instances where a snared target moves slightly off the trap without triggering it.
A visual observation may provide a clue to the issue: when I place a trap, the animation shows the trap initially open, closing briefly, and then reopening again. This reopening seems to align with the time window during which the trap becomes « active. » If an enemy steps on the trap after the jaws reopen, the trap functions as expected. However, this delay period creates a window where the trap fails to trigger, which was not the case in WoW 1.12.

I also noticed that the trap trigger range seems shorter compared to my experience in WoW version 1.12. This may contribute to the issues described and appears inconsistent with how traps used to behave.
I would like to emphasize that my ping is consistently low (22ms). Based on my experience with the hunter class during WoW version 1.12 and corroborated by videos from that era, traps used to trigger instantly when placed directly on an enemy, and the trigger range was sufficient to ensure smooth functionality.
This type of issue significantly affects the gameplay experience and diminishes the functionality of the hunter class. I suspect these problems might also impact the new « Anniversary » servers, and I encourage your team to investigate.
Additionally, I think it’s worth considering that this issue may be linked to changes made to the Kurinnaxx trap mechanic in AQ20. Since Kurinnaxx’s traps likely use similar scripting to hunter traps, any adjustments to delay their activation for simplifying PvE encounters might have inadvertently affected the functionality of hunter traps, especially in PvP scenarios.
