one of the quests early on in Bastion of the SL campaign has been bugged for a while now.
During the part where you are supposed to “hold the heat steady”, the progress bar which shows you where the heat is does not appear.
That means you blindly have to shovel fuel hoping the quest will eventually complete, without being able to know or see what the actual heat and progression level is.

I did this quest without problems on 6 or 7 characters, and then suddenly the bar refused to show up for all consecutive characters since.
This hasn’t been fixed for at least 2 or 3 weeks, and I marvel that there are not more complaints about this, because someone who hasn’t done this quest before when it was still functioning might have real problems to finish it (and then will be stuck in the campaign).

ps. this is not an issue on my side. I don’t run any add-ons.
I report it here because the in-game bug report feature seems to have disappeared, instead you get an endless black loading screen and after that a series of bla-bla pages with zero options to report anything.

as of today still (or again) bugged, bar not showing.

I did this quest on my druid just two weeks ago and did not have an issue with the bar.

I realize you are not using any addons, but have you reset your UI anyway? If you are not using addons then a UI reset wont cause you any inconvenience at all and definitely worth a try.

Close the game,
Locate your WTF, Cache and Interface folders in your World of Warcraft->Retail folder and rename them to WTFold, Cacheold, InterfaceOld. Then relaunch the game which will recreate them in their reset state and try again.

thanks, but I doubt it’s an issue on my part, because 2 or 3 days ago (shortly after I had posted here), it suddenly worked.
I was like “wow, they fixed it that fast?” and finished the quest in like 20 seconds.
One day later, without anything having changed UI wise or in gamefiles, when taking yet another character through- no bar. Again.
If it were an issue with my PC, it wouldn’t have suddenly worked one time, just to stop working again on the next day.

  10. Uninstalled Curseforge and renamed the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFOld.

All together, I have tried to complete this quest on five different computers, three of which had been able to complete the quest on other accounts/characters other than mine."

so yes, it IS a bug. One that keeps people from levelling through the story, at that.
Good luck if you are stuck there on your main with no idea what to do.
