Did all the relevant parts to obtain the Underlight Angler on my new Dragon char.
Now have a shiney fishing rod which refuses to allow any upgrade options because the game now considers it non equiped in general due to adding it to the fishing journel instead of letting me manually equip it.
Please sort this or give people going to the trouble of obtaining one of these a proper rod with all the defaults unlocked. (fish mode, water walking, mini stealth from mobs)
This should be solved, following a recent hotfix. Depending on timezone/server this change is most likely already live for everyone reading this, by the time they do so. 
Still not sorted on my char atm. When you say time zone, can we expect this to be sorted Wed reset?
Still not working as of 23/11/2020 .you can interact with the pearl with the fishing rod but no traits show up on the screen . it will show how much xp you have but thats it
edit - If you only just earned to rod - if you had the rod before all the traits show up but i don`t know if you can upgrade them
It’s not solved. As an evoker at least, I can now see my artifact power, but no traits are given. I had the rod since last week when I couldn’t even see its AP.
So now we can interact with the pearl as Dracthyr, we can add AP to the rod. What we cant do is spend any of the AP on the legendary rod traits, which is the whole point of doing this in the first place.
How can you fix one thing without fixing the other?
Found this fix on the USA forum and only way so far I found to get full benefits on my Evoker.
For this you need the legendary rod and to interact with the pearl in Dalaran.
Disable any full interface mods if nothing happens for you.
Open chat and enter this:
/run C_ArtifactUI.AddPower(1021)
This should unlock the full upgrade traits for the legendary fishing rod and let you purchase them, even if they all still look greyd out.
If you dont get a response, then try fishing up some AP on your legendary rod before running the above script as a friend tested it at zero AP on the rod and did not get a response.
