I went crazy to figure out what the problem was with this crash! Every time I approached the area or tried to do the quest, the game would go off.
I solved with the second solution, I write you anyway all the solutions: iCrash are related to corrupt files.
Force a World of Warcraft index reset:
- Close World of Warcraft
- Close the Battle.net app
- Access the folder where you installed World of Warcraft (default is under C: Program Files (x86))
- Access the Data folder
- Delete the indices folder
- Access the data folder
- Delete all files in IDX format
- Launch the Battle.net app
- In the World of Warcraft section click on the cog next to Play/Update and select “Scan and reopen”
At the end of the analysis, take a test.
If you encounter a crash again, force a reset of the addons and interface as well. Also don’t reinstall any addons at the beginning (which means you also need to make sure you close any addon management program if you use one):
- Close World of Warcraft
- Close the Battle.net app
- Access the folder where you installed World of Warcraft again
- This time access folder
- Delete the Cache folder
- Rename WTF and Interface folders (contain your settings and addons, rename them and use them as backups)
- Launch the Battle.net app and run a new “Scan and repair”
Once again do a test in game, but as I said before make sure not to reinstall any addon.
At the end of the test, if you continue to have crash problems, contact support and leave the character near the area where you crash (they will do tests in the game).
If you are finally able to play without problems, reinstall the various addons (you can recover everything from the Interface and WTF folders that you have renamed previously).
Just keep in mind that if the crash comes back then you will have to completely delete these folders and reset everything from scratch (especially make sure the installed addons are compatible with version 10.2 of Wow).
