Recently in MoP Classic, various raid and dungeon enemy encounters from previous expansions stopped dropping gold when killed. This was unintentional, and we tracked down the bug and developed a fix for it.
The hotfix to restore gold drop behavior in instances from previous expansions went out to all realms about 10 hours ago.
It looks like the affected encounters are once again dropping correct amounts of gold. Thank you to those who reported the bug!
Tester don“t code. It“s not the test teams decision and therefore obviously out of her control.
I never mentioned a job title and Iām not sure why you feel itās relevant. But Iām glad you agree with me that it was a decision made by somebody and not a bug like the blue post is claiming!
She also said intended was a bad choice of words and that it was an issue.
Youāre selectively quoting here to make your argument look better. She didnāt clarify what she intended to say originally and that it was being discussed.
If it were just an unintended bug as the blue post is claiming, they would have just said that immediately and not invited heat from the playerbase by telling them their gold income is being nerfed.
BTW if i remember correctly they reduced the amount of gold in older raids at one point during mop
i wouldn“t be surprised if both is true:
It was intended behavior (that the gold amount is lower), but that none gold dropped was a bug
Again, Iām glad you agree with me that Blizzard intended to make changes to gold acquisition and havenāt been honest with the playerbase about it!
Third option:
you delete this nonsense before everyone does know that you are a fool with 0 reading comprehension.
You agreed with the point I was making and canāt use capital letters or punctuation properly, focus on yourself pal.
Why then, did one of your employees confirm on their twitter account that this was an intended change that the development team had no control over?
You claimed that the DEVELOPER TEAM doesn“t have control over it, while Morgan is a tester.
Tester != Developer.
you also directly jumped to the conclusion that either the devs (Kaivax is just forwardig informations by the devs) must be lying or the answer of a tester who said what they knew at that point an was already corrected BEFORE your post.
Edit:
Removed some stuff which was not necessary to say, sorry
Plus, i think i found the patch when in original MoP the amount of gold was lowered in old raids: 5.0.3
From 150-200 Gold to 10 gol or something like that (ok, a german magazine found it. cough )
So both might be actually correct:
it was intended (that the bosses would drop less) but it was a bug that they didn“t drop anything anymore
however, they restored it now as it was.
so everyone should be happy - without claiming that people who probalby answered the best they could when they didn“t had to answer at all - were lying.
you also directly jumped to the conclusion that either the devs (Kaivax is just forwardig informations by the devs) must be lying or the answer of a tester who said what they knew at that point an was already corrected BEFORE your post.
Or Blizzard is lying to save face because they made a very unpopular decision and thatās why their employee canāt keep her story straight and isnāt clarifying what she intended to say.
If it was intended the bosses drop less, why hasnāt that been mentioned anywhere?
āmentioningā something would require some kind of blue post / patch notes.
I agree, IF it was intended it should have been mentioned somewhere.
But i am also disillusioned in regards of actual patch notes and communication as it was a long time ago.
We can be happy IF they respond somewhere on their private accounts to questions - even if their information might be outdated or wrong.
Too many layoff rounds now, there“s just no one left who could compile this stuff.
(also something i actually blame ActiMicro. Not Blizz, Holly Longdale once mentioned the WoW dev have zero say in e.g. the amount of CM they are probably actually not to blame for it).
Edit:
Its kind of a vicious circle.
We don“t have anyone for questions who would actually talk to us like our CMs.
They might read/see it, but never respond. The player feel unheard, go out to social media and track devs down.
Some of them are kind and answer, maybe wrong. player blame that blizzard and the devs, testeres an so on are ālyingā.
Blizz employees answer less. Player become more toxic and so on
I really don“t understand how anyone thinks a MMO(RPG) can function withouth a functioning communication between player and devs.
If someone puts hours (And mmos are just meant to be timesinks) iknto a game and feels helpless about decisions the devs make or unheard will become more and more frustrated
I pray nobody else has to read your essays, mate. Proper horrendous that was.
Evidently this was an intended change to drive down the gold costs of WoW token, got a huge backlash and now broās over here saying āit was just a bug guys kekwā as per usual. Standard Blizz incompetence.
Itās not that deep. It happened. Whatever.
Just for the record, if the WoW token is worth less Whales will spend more on tokens to get the same amount of gold. Itās always the greediest move with WoW devs, anything to keep the shareholders happy at detriment to their players.
