Can someone explain me why playing the game well that is called “min-maxing” recently is seen as such evil. It’s normal that a lot of people understand stats better and can calculate them better. This game has 15 y.o. No matter how hard you try you won’t bring that freshness where everyone is clueless. Look at what happened to Classic - people steamrolled through it. Let’s be honest people who care about their spec and class performance aren’t 1-2% of the community. You can clearly see it by the amount of guilds that clear mythic every tier or if you check highest PvP or rio ranks. Covenants are problem for potential 50% of the community because there is huge difference in their performance and it’s not 1-2% of the community crying but serious design issue.
1 month for tuning doesn’t sound optimistically while they still rework some specs. If balancing/tunning covenants is even possible. Yikes!
Mythic raiding does not work like that, you know ?
If I switch, I might end up in a worse guild, which tbh, is not something I find fun and entertaining. A guild roster needs 25 players in order to raid 20 man content.
Blizzard DOES have a history of using nerf chainsaw
They have a history of rollercoasting buffs/nerfs too
Specs/classes do not play in the same way. Giving everyone the same buff makes sense when they do the same thing in the same way. But they don’t. So certain specs will get more mileage out of certain buffs. And this is the balance problem in a nutshell. Because these abilities have to be balanced for 36 specs of 12 classes in M+, raiding, PvP… In a situation where Blizzard has repeatedly proven for the last 2 years they can’t balance the base classes/specs for their lives.
Do you trust them to get it right this time? Perhaps you like playing Russian Roulette too? With live bullets, as you seem to feel lucky, punk?
I know I don’t. Simply by Murphy’s laws: the more systems you stack on each other, the more failures you will get, and the more catastrophic the systemic failure will be. Because things always fail and only fools (and corporations who like their PR more than sound planning) think nothing can fail, while in fact everything can and something definitely will.
I don’t know. I can do math just fine and care for my characters’ performance despite not being gladiator, mythic raider or timing +30. Might be that the people who can’t do math have simply gotten louder. Maybe someone was kicked out of LFR due to dps below any notion of decency. Or rejected from a guild run because their damage was so low, they were healing the boss instead. Or perhaps they’ve been locked in due to Covid for so long, their jealousy have outgrown their senses and knowing they will never be “top 1%” they just seethe with hatred at their betters, i.e. people who DO care?
