I have three questions.
My friend lives in the US, however he plays on EU with me, therefore BNET account is US. Because of this, he’s unable to buy any services which doesn’t make any sense really (you can buy gametime, expacs, mounts, pets and so on but not services) such as tokens, boosts, name changes, etc. It makes absolutely no sense that they’re willing to take the purchase for Product A1 but not Product A2. Why is this a thing?
When he attempts to make an ingame purchase it almost immediatelly says that he needs to go to the website (really funny not funny when trying to buy a boost because on the website it says “do it ingame”). If anyone has tried, would it still do the same if he added EUR balance/I gifted him GBP balance to his account?
Also, I can’t see the stuff on his whishlist, what gives? What is the entire point of the wishlist if I can’t see to gift him stuff?
Hi there Johnblake,
I’m sorry to hear about the frustration you and your US friend ran into, I know this can be a bit confusing, and more than anything it’s simply a technical restriction.
That said, your friend should still be able to purchase most services, just as long as they use the web shop instead of trying to do it in-game. The notable exceptions being the character boost and WoW token you mentioned, which can only be purchased in-game.
Gifting sadly isn’t an option, as your friend can only add balance matching their home region.
For the boost, you can ask your friend to make a ticket and support may be able to help make the purchase for them, though we have no workaround we can suggest for the token.
As for the wish list, it currently doesn’t function across regions but definitely keep an eye out for improvements to this in the future!
Thank you for your reply, I’ll let him know that he can send in a ticket!
