Calling the devs out

Okay this SP nerf/buff combo they recently thrown out is now drawing the line for me. We all seen how sad and bad Blizzard is at making balance changes this entire phase and ontop of that their STV event is a clownfiesta as of now.

This is what they have done in P2 as of nerfs:
Druid

  • Starsurge base damage reduced by 35%, and its benefit from bonus spell damage effects reduced to 42.9%, matching other instant spells.
    Druids were literally nerfed to the ground with this alone and made sitting ducks in PvP. The only thing they got going is their flexibility. The simple fix that should’ve been done is decreasing the damage by 20-25% / CD increase to bring it in line with SWD / etc.

Priest

  • Shadow Word: Death base damage before modifiers decreased by 40% and spellpower coefficient adusted to 42.9% (was 64.3%).

See the common theme? Literally ranged classes that finally got some value with expanded talent trees get gutted the second whinebabys cry about certain things and certain blantant things like ROGUE are being ignored from Blizz while getting fed with buffs and runes each phase, their mobility is unmatched and CC even more so.
In the words of Scorpedo, good job at calling out this cringefest from forum trolls and devs who clearly do not play the game at all:

Moving on, the event, who remembers getting GY camped the first few weeks?
Yeah, the majority does, so what did we get in the first update? A debuff for 1 minute that prevented us from giving players blood if they kill you during the duration, giving people a chance to “reset” after dying.

The next update, they made the debuff a buff, terrible idea, that is basically asking to revert to Graveyard camping and hoping for people not to have the buff on.

The last update they brought was a sound idea on paper but, literally ruined the players ability to proper “reset” after dying.
Couldn’t buff certain things, pet classes got screwed over, classes with classmounts cant use their mounts, auras couldn’t be activated (hunter/pally) and etc.
And with no movement speed buffs after dying, it is basically close to graveyard camping.

This isn’t the end of the event, layering, lag and bugs ruin it further:
The debuff from dying is still not working as intended, you cannot do anything except very few abilities/mounting/etc. , classes getting screwed over by this, basically this is 2.0 GY camping for blood edition, and thus unplayable.
Abilities are getting delayed, Auras are not being shown until it’s quite literally too late, and PvP trinket is worthless, which makes any kind of PvP unfun.
Booty Bay Guards interfere with PvP during the event, when they shouldn’t? The fly masters are hostile/noninteractable, why are guards still interacting?

The event is barely playable at peak times due to layers screwing up your party, the lag making it impossible to counteract what happens to you and BB Guard bug ruins it in Booty Bay.

The fix to the current event is to revert it back to the 2nd iteration with a 1min debuff, participants being able to prepare themselves with buffs/auras/mounts/etc without this invis stuff. And any attack made against someone without the debuff will drop your debuff aswell to encourage killing the attacker.

For those who don’t read: Blizz keeps taking losses, while making memeworthy posts.

edit: i did forget mentioning the fact that gnomeregan bosses literally have more armor than MC bosses, just who thought this was a good idea? change it to reasonable armor so we can actually play the game as melee

Starsurge was broken. and SWD were broken. They getting nerfed as they should be. And everyone with a brain is celebrating rn.

I dont know. I play COD I am used to 200 ms kills but in wow its so weird to kill or die in 5 sec 1v1 in groups its even more messy. They should just made solo death match event with many spawn points in the whole STV. This group nonsense is even more weird.

Of course ppl will camp respawns if there are only like two. You dont need to be brain genius to figure this out. On top of that everyone is respawned at same place. Where the hell is logic. Imagine playing COD or any arena fps game with 1 respawn on the map.

Boomy nerf was expected, and needed. Tho like I said before, a 20% nerf would have been more than enough. But fine, life goes on.

I think SP was hit with a heavy nerf too, probably too heavy, and I dont really see a compensation for pve. Which means 1 of 2 things.

  1. They think SP dmg was too high in PvE and want it lower, or:
  2. Its another knee jerk reaction to the mass unhappiness, that Blizzard just hit it SP with a fast nerf and will sort out the rest later.

I think in this version of WoW, they cant balance pvp and pve at the same time. Case in point, Enha does super low dmg in pve, yet in pvp its a raid boss. Far too many specs hit extremely hard. Melee Hunter, Muti Rogue, Destro Lock, Ele Sham. All need adjustment to their dmg. A 30% health increase in BGs and STV will not make much of a difference, the dmg is still far too high.

So how to fix, but not break pve, Thats the real question.

Also, before I forget. They again ignored classes that needed a lot of pvp love, such as Feral, and to an extent Warriors too.

This is simple. Rogue is in the 3 most popular classes according to raidlogs. So basically players of the most popular (and most overboosted) class is vocal majority, who’s crying about the less popular classes, and those less popular classes getting nerfed.

The class ballancing must be based on testing, but in fact it’s based on the “cancel culture”.

You dont even know what the meaning of “cancel culture” is. lmfao.

Rogues entire identity is burst. they do poorly in long fights. Their entire class is about ambushing. It’s a frontloaded class.

Priest has tons of utility. they can HEAL, they have great survivability in shadow. they are a ranged class so they can kite.

Imagine thinking that a healer class should have the same burst dmg as a squishy rogue designed around ambushing.

Sure-sure, tell us story how weak the poor rogue and “do poorly in long fights” :clown_face: Rogue is obviously the most broken and overboosted class atm - this is pretty clear to everyone who play SOD and have at least some brain.

No dont get me wrong. rogue is insane. Im not saying anything else.

But its a problem when ranged class can do the same damage with a single instant cast button push as what a rogue can do with 3 mutilates and a 5 minute tea cooldown.

Anyone with a brain can agree with that.

Let me correct you.
It was needed pvp nerf, but also HUGE PVE over nerf due wrong spell of choice for compensation. One that makes another single ability hard hiting especially if it crits will do double. What they should do is substantially buff dots and not create another crazy spell. After next reset starfire will HIT for as much as SS used to crit. They are unbelievablt clueless. They can make sunfire rune to also apply moonfire buffing pve dps and not so op in pvp cause dispell and its overtime. Now our rotation should not even have dots anymore cause its a damage los unless we on the move and cant cast at all AND ss is on cd, only then you can cast sunfire mediocre dmg.
You can see how from 3-4th place in statiatics we are now 10th .
The reports of wowhead dps is out of date and you can simply go WCL —> statistics —> 1 day statistics so you see after the nerf = murdered

That some classes is way to strong i think we all can agree on. And nerf might be justified, however would be better to get weaker classes buffed to be on par instead of the feeling of removing fun.

Regardless, blizzard devs clearly have no clue what they are doing. They treat us like beta players because they are to inadequate to figure out balance by them self. I dont belive for a second that they have tested any of this out before release.
Why did phase 1 go on for such a long time when hardly anthing was done in phase 2??

Imagine using “ferals do 1k shreds” as an example of something more broken than SWD. Actually lmao. Ferals are AWFUL in PvP and PvE while SP is broken everywhere. Stop yourself.

What a feral must realistically do to 1k+ shred crit:

  • Get in melee range
  • Pounce, mangle, Savage roar. You now have 10-30 energy after spending 3 globals and must wait minimum 1 more second for E to Shred, or
  • Stay behind target and in melee range with no slow, no stun and shapeshifting costs 25% mana
  • Tigers fury and/or berserk to have energy for shred (30s-3 min CD)
  • Get a crit(~22% chance in full bis)

What an SP must do to do 800-1000 SWD:

  • Be within 36 yards
  • Click SWD
  • Non crit

12s cd, 36 yards range.

Like wtf are we talking about?

but because of some made up ‘role play’ apspect it’s pefectly OK to burst down someone in a few GCDs on a rogue

if you dont like class identity then just go play retail where every class can do everything and everyone is just a reskin of eachother?

shadow priest has just as much " class identity" to invent role play bolox to justify burst damage. See how easy that was ?
