Callings in Dragonflight

Is there an equivalent to Callings in Dragonflight?

Hopefully they’re auto-pick up and auto turn-in. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Would be nice if they were like the Legion ones!

Cool. Surprised I can’t find any info on it.

Was wondering about this in general, both on the callings and the quality of the world quests themselves. They have been progressively getting worse for the player since their introduction in Legion and I sincerely hope DF reverses that trend at least a bit.

But then my curiosity wasnt that strong to start digging into the PTR myself. Preach recently mentioned that the chores bar (or whatever you call that thing that u gotta get to 80 with each covenant) also exists in DF in some form and its tied to world quests so he didnt even try researching it, having a bit of a PTSD from the ones in SL, but thats as much as I heard about them.

Or at least auto pickup, with an easy turn-in like some of those click-to-complete quests. Would be awesome imo!

Pretty sure they will be , they need some non-content .

Renown does exist but it’s fairly passive and more like gaining rep and levelling up, you start it from day one in each zone tied to each faction and all the rewards are purely cosmetic so you don’t have to bother with it if you don’t want it and it won’t affect your char negatively outside of missing out on some transmogs or profession extras that are not important.

You get rep from WQs, but also from side quests and story quests so it doesn’t really feel like a chore to unlock renown levels. A lot of quests also give other cosmetics too which are fun to collect if that’s your thing.

But!! If you just play for the raiding or PvP you aren’t going to be held back by not doing wqs once you hit 70.

I prefer the Korthia / Zereth Mortis (Patterns within Patterns) weekly quests. You can knock it out in one day if you put in some effort doing all the WQs and killing lots of rares or you can do it slowly by doing 2 WQs a day over the week. If there are WQs up that day that you really don’t like you can skip a day or two. Or if you decide to not log in at all for a few days you aren’t missing out on too much as you can catch up easily.
Or if you’re really lazy you can do it over 2 weeks by doing 1 WQ a day.

This gives more agency to the players, they decide when and how much to do each day. Callings / Emissaries need you to log in every day and to do whatever WQs are available that day. Also easier on Alts.

I liked the Legion concept, where you automatically get the quest and then just have to hand it in at a convenient place. Would like them to do that again,

The Shadowlands concept is annoying and inconvenient because

  1. You need to pick up the quest at your hall and then return to it

  2. Travel in SL is slow because the zones are not connected and you always have to fly through Oribos.

So in SL you spend more time flying than actually doing the WQs. Point 2 should not be an issue with DF as it is an island and the zones are connected.

Renown is basically just rep in dragonflight
