Camera Obstructions

Anyone else having major issues in some dungeons where the environment things sometimes randomly pop into view and block your game view??

Surely it’s about time they had a system where the camera can hide environment objects if they come into the camera view and block the player’s view, Died 5 times in COS due to a random tree straying in front of the camera at the wrong moment.

I do not like to play WoW with the camera zoomed in, I like the max view distance from the player character so I can see the boss mechanics and such like happening.

Trees hardest adversary.

Making the camera see through stuff is going to break a lot of things. Many things in WoW rely on one object obstructing another - it is not a trivial task!

I would recommend you simply zoom in. It’s a lot more playable in PvE than people get it credit for. This max-zoom thing is really more important in PvP.

Try classic, the camera sometimes zooms out of the world, i see the textures beneath the dungeon.

Hopefully one day Blizzurd will grow into a large gaming company and they will have the financial power to hire enough devs. :relieved:

Grimrail is another case in point. If you could have just zoomed past the sides of the train and they became opaque - like other games managed in 1982 then it would have been a fun place.

Instead it sucked.

It’s for me a miserable experience. I have keybinded zoom, so I can zoom in and out, but its not fun playing zoomed in either.

Maybe one day this small indie company will have devs that can prio these tasks, but I doubt it.

Hey man I tried a lot of stuff,

nothing will fix camera obstruction problem fully, however what I discovered is that if you go to

Motion Sickness and turn on “Allow dynamic camera movement”

This at least for me fixed the issue because camera actually tries to correct itself a bit in this scenario, after turning this on I am much more likely to see what is going on on the ground, compared to other options from the menu. Ofc this can bother you if you have motion sickness from playing wow.

It may not work for you but try it:

Options>General>Motion Sickness>Allow Dynamic Camera movement

Thanks, I’ve just tried it and so far it works.

Some of the dungeons are excruciatingly bad for it - I detest going into CoS, Jade Temple, Ruby Life Pools.

Honestly - I’ve always said Nokhud has been my favourite dungeon purely because I don’t have to deal with this camera obstruction nonsense… I can actually get on with the game and focus on what I need to.

I’m with Sylvanas, burn the tree, burn ALL the trees, especially those in Court of Stars and some in Jade Serpent.
