Camping for "rares" is NOT playing the game 🚩

Yes they are both bad that is my point what the heck did you think my point was?

Why do you need to camp a rare?
CAN YOU ANSWER?

I am not defending camping anything but there are no rares in BFA that require hours of camping.
Why would you camp? just fly over it is there one or is there not, if it is you kill if it is not you move on. You do not need a single one for rep if you are a casual (you prob want it if you are hardcore but as a casual you really do not need it what so ever you will get it in time anyway.)
And the ap it gives is so little that it is not worth the time.

So because it didnt happen on 2 of the most toxic realms ever it means it never happened get a grip ofc it happened on big realms .

There is more the one hunter discord you know this right ? And yes i am on there thank you.

Why doesnt it surpise me a kazzak player swearing to get a point across .

Thats why i have nearly 500 mounts and 4 hunters nearly with full stables . You know what the say about ASSuming things.

I can wait, if it feels worth a wait. But if I need to sit somewhere in vale for 3-4h to wait a 4 second up-time rare. Then no, my life is way too short and looking out of window - current state outside is a good reminder of that.

I can do something in a game hours to no end - to feel distracted, relief stress, but sitting on a spot does none of that. I do not have anything in that hours of waiting to entertain me or relief stress. And if I should play this game with “Netflix”, then I rather just find something good on TV, and focus on that and forget all what happens around me.

Afking on a spot …

I did not camp a thing in vanilla either. And my rustfetaher mount i got because I flew past the area while 3 kill quest was up. I value more (the players with, since I do not have it myself) the ‘nazjatar achievement’ mount than any of the ‘lol i camped’ people that try to show off in Boralus.

Ok - upfront I am so sorry. You are going to hate me for this.

I’m not sure if it was karma or not karma or whatever but…

I was just finishing the Pandaria Invasion today and the Lasso drops. I Googled it and found out what it was.

Thought I’d give it a go - looked up and the Ivory Serpent flew over me. I kid you not. Now I have it.

I’m literally that guy now. It can happen apparently.

But in my defense - I’ve played for a long time, this is the first time anything like this has happened to me.

Thank you for such a beautiful and level-headed description. This is explained so much better than I did.

We want to spend time in the game, but not like this… not hours of wait times. I hope developers do better next time, hopefully the metrics show negative results with such designs.

Nah man, congratulations, really. Moments like these are cool, but some may despise how brief your farming was compared to theirs. And Ivory Serpent showing up is an icing on a cake - a really lucky moment.

The lasso is an OK mechanic, it drops from monsters - meaning you can increase your chances directly by inviting friends, getting better gear, becoming better as a player - it’s perfectly OK in my book.

To all of you out there, I really wish you luck, by no means I mean any misfortune. The lasso is a perfect goal to have.

I truly like the concept of the Nazjatar mount, despite me not have done it. Those players have had persistence and stubbornness. Those players also have spent time doing things. Patiently, day after day. Worked towards a goal or few. Or even those players playing with the mini-trade game with the murlocks in naz. Those are some cool examples. I have neither mounts, but I still support the concept.

I also am fan of ‘loremaster’ or ‘complete quest chain to get something’ type of rewards. Flying trough exploration+story quests=win. Heck even account wide raid attunements=win. I do not need free loot or quick loot even.

But sitting and chilling with Netflix… why sit and chill here while I could go read a book, play another game or wash dishes. In case of wow if I am ‘bored enough’ to sit 3 hours, I tend to play an alt. PLAY- DO SOMETHING IN-GAME.

That’s my take and same way I value a lot more actions that reward instead RNG that rewards.

It really was ridiculously lucky - and the immense irony of this situation is what I was trying to argue for.

Then it happened. Such a weird situation. The odds so so stacked against it.

But, as I hope I said before, I get your point.

No farming - that’s the crazy outcome of this affair - I did no farming, nothing. It fell into my hands. I take no pride in it - just shock at the situation and now given this thread how utterly mental the chances of something like this happens >.<
