Tried to get my name changed by contacting support but it won´t accept the ticket. Tried multiple days but it´s not getting through.
I made the account name when the REAL-ID issues were rampant and I didn’t want to give my real name. Now that I want to fix it it seems that customer support isn’t accepting new tickets?
I get the error:
You can’t submit this ticket.
An error has occurred. This may be a temporary error, so please try again later.
I would like this to be resolved and my account name to be changed to my actual name.
This is always going to be a problem. In order to change the name on the account, you need to provide proof you are the account holder, if your name is not on the account, you won’t be able to do that. It’s not the first time we have had posts about using fake names for security reasons though so hopefully there is a solution.
Normally if you cannot submit a ticket, it’s because something is missing. In this case, I suspect it is because they will want a scan of some officially recognized ID attached to the ticket, in the format and size they need it in, this should be described on the ticket submission page.
I added my ID and game codes in the post. And my account is Authenticator protected too. That’s not the problem.
The problem is that I cannot even submit the ticket in the first place. All the fields are filled in including the discription, birth of date and attachments with all the information needed.
When I send it (try to) it gets bounced with the message they cannot recieve it and I should wait a little. But nothing changed for weeks.
My hope is that the section of the customer support is broken and they’ll fix it because of this thread.
Is the attachment in the correct format they accept and not above the maximum size? (Worth double checking that)
Good thing to ask. Png is accepted and the size is below the 15 mb allowed. But I can change it to gif to see if that works better.
Aaaand. Nope. Sadly that was not the solution.
Making an account under a fake name can definitely cause problems with verifying ownership, but we always help out where we can.
We’re not seeing any issues from our side with opening tickets, i’d suggest trying in another browser just to rule out something getting in the way there. Some security software also gets in the way of submitting images with tickets, so if another browser doesn’t work, give it a shot on another device, like a laptop or phone.
Ticket got submitted through my phone. But I’m kind of displeased I couldn’t do it through my browser as that would’ve been 20 times faster. I hope the issue gets resolved now that the ticket is through. Thanks anyways for the help.
I’m in the same situation as the OP for very similar reasons. I’ve been trying to do this for ages now and the support just wont listen to me. Every time I get a reply to my ticket there’s a response from a diff person and all of them just repeat the same like, “We need name change by deed poll, marriage certificate. Sorry this is not what you were looking for but we can’t help you.”
My acc is now limited and I’m afraid of losing 15 years worth of progress and memories…
Sorry for necroing this post but Galcavon you seem reasonable and the support staff I spoke to just don’t offer the same reassurance.
I’m not exactly sure what you’re expecting from Galcavon here, what the prior posters posted remains correct: You need to provide proof that you’ve legally changed your name.
The question is, can you provide legal proof yes or no and what have you done so far?
If the name is too close to a real name they will not be able to change the account name as ownership cannot be verified.
Fake names mean you may lose your account.
