Can’t enter ICC 25 man heroic

Hi guys,

I’ve got a reoccurring bug where I select the 25 man heroic raid setting, but the ICC raid refuses to enable that difficulty. It shows heroic on my profile picture option, but when I enter and kill bosses it doesn’t recognise that they’ve been completed on Heroic. As I had the problem last week and fully expected it again this week, to be sure I’d done everything I could I logged out outside the raid with it set to Heroic 25 man. I closed down battlenet and disabled all addons. Then logged in and entered the raid, it displayed heroic 25 man on my profile, but then as expected, no achievement.

I’ve tried contacting support but as suspected they were no use whatsoever, how do I go about fixing this game error?

Are you trying to set the raid difficulty while inside the raid? That can only be done outside - and only when all bosses are alive on the difficulty you entered.

Also the game might not register the set difficulty after a relog. This is usually solved by changing the raid difficulty to something else, and then back again to desired difficulty.

No, I set the raid difficulty outside the raid as heroic 25 man. Then logged off and back on again outside the raid, checked it was still the same, entered the raid and it still showed the same, killed the boss and no achievement.

What achievement, exactly?

Also, check your raid lock,

Typr the letter O to get into Social, then click the Raid tab at the bottom.

What Raid Bosses on what difficulty does it say you have done?

You can’t change difficulty of that raid if you have killed any boss in any difficulty. So if you already killed any boss, changing difficulty will have no effect. You have to wait weekly reset to do same raid again. And as far as I remember you have to clear that raid on normal difficulty before going into heroic mode.

Also you have to right click on your portrait and reset all instances for most of the raids and dungeons.

Does this happen on all your characters?
Are you in Chromie Time (shouldn’t make a difference but you never know).

In my experience characters aren’t even allowed to enter raids while in Chromie time.

I just did the dungeon 25 man heroic solo mage level 50 and I never use Chromie anyway. If a raid or dungeon doesn’t support say mythic or heroic it degrades you to the next or normal level, but tells you as you enter the raid or dungeon. I had never done this raid on normal mode so I jumped straight into heroic. Obviously very easy and sadly the rewards are junk.

Only problem I had was getting mutated by stupidly drinking stuff at the professor table and having nobody to cure me. Thankfully you transform as you leave the area. Also Valithria is a pain on your own … bit like trying to shut the furnace down on your own at the foundary in WoD. Some challenges elsewhere in raids are a touch tricky if not impossible on your own.

Kinda fun I guess but not very profitable sadly… The spaces were a bit big for my tiny Bloodelf legs. I do enjoy one shotting stuff. Happy days.

Valithria is actually quite easy. All classes with healing spells are good to go. For everyone else, use the essence Consecrated Flame (Hearth of Azeroth).

DF bandages seems to work too, reportedly you have to kill the trash before healing her for it to work.

Unfortunately, older raids group all their difficulties into a single lockout. You can’t run 10man, 25man, Normal and Heroic in the same week.

Would have been great for Invisible farming.

You know it only drops from 25 heroic right?

Don’t know when you last tried BRF but it’s pretty easy nowadays. I believe furnace was nerfed in 8.2.5.

As for the green dragon I think she’s skippable, not sure, never tried to myself.

No I hadn’t entered the raid or killed a single boss before setting the difficulty. The achievement is Heroic: Storming the Citadel and shows no progress despite me killing the first boss

Valithra is skippable, the mobs dont even look at you. I always skip that and go straight to Sindragosa, however i tbink there’s some kind of achievement tied in with her

She indeed is.

Yeah, there is 4x [The Frostwing Halls]-achivements, one for each difficulty. Also she has an unique loot table, which includes [Illusion: Earthliving].

Is that the one where you have to enter 4 different portals?

No, luckily it is simply about winning the encounter by healing her back up again. Also requires you to kill Sindragosa on same difficulty.

Actually yes, there is [Portal Jockey]. Normally you would have to oblige to mechanics and use portals to earn the achievement, but at high levels all you need is to simply win the encounter by healing her back up again.
