I’m playing with a good friend of mine. We both have VC. And we’ve tried resto Druid with paladin or DK and balance Druid with Dk or paladin.
We can’t reach 1.4K? Once we climb we meet people with 40h health that can 1-2 shot us? All we want is to reach 1.4K to be able to upgrade our gear… we’ve been playing so many hours… like … what shall one do.
Practice! Watch videos, read guides about proper specs and damage rotation. Learn what and when to cc and interrupt. The more you play, the more you learn and figure out what works.
There are plenty of streamers out there that are really helpful. Try and find one that hasn’t got too many viewers but is high rated, I’m sure they’ll answer any questions you have.
You can also record your games to figure out what when wrong or what you did good.
And addon that is really helpful to a new pvper is Gladiatoelossa2(I think that’s how you spell it) . It announces with a voice when the enemy uses offensive and defensive abilities, helping you react faster and not having to look for spell animations and such, which can be hard in the beginning.
we(disc feral) only just hover at 1400. so many arms, paladins and ww make it hard to progress. As a disc they just run me out of mana if not flat out pve me to death.
what annoys me is we constantly run little setups and gos but our opponents generally just seem to mongo us to death.
U need at least 207-210 ilvl to be able to play arenas atm.
Most people have 35-43 k hp,and that’s what i have been facint at 1400 since 700 cr.
Too many boosters and too many people gearing in rbg’s in order to play arenas, because in rbg u dont lose any rating until 1400.
At 400 cr i faced 43 k hp warlock and 40 k hp priest.I had 27 k hp,actually i dont remember if i ever played vs team who had same amount of hp as me,or similar when i was at 27-30 k hp.
Sadly,it is what it is,and unless you got yourself 35-40 k hp,u wont stand chance vs most teams.
And yes, most important thing if you want to progress is to avoid Group Finder.
That’s why most people have 1k games played, stuck at 1400 rating.
When you change partners all day long,u cant build synergy or trust. You need to play with same people over and over again. Most group finder people leave after 2 loss in a row.
U wont learn nothing like that.
Again, find someone, have chat with the people, talk to eachother get to know eachother, because randoms wont get u nowhere.
People were much better at pvp when there were teams and when u used to lose cr once u left team.
Less people raged and less people were toxic.People were willing to learn.
Play balance+holy paladin, make a macro to announce before you’re ready to convoke so your mate can pop aura mastery and you can’t get interrupted.
GG on your 1400
I carry people to 1.4, 1.6 rating for free so your analogy that you need x ilvl is asinine. Sure I may be better than many people at that rating but I am still mostly playing 1v2.
I don’t agree with Ilvl being the main factor at all. Not at 1400. If you have at around 200 you should make it to 1600 without a problem if you knew what you were doing. The main factor is setting up goes, and knowing when not to.
För example, me on my lock, I’m around 222 ilvl, but just yesterday we played destru, ww and hpala to 1800 where our hpala got to 60 6 days ago. No legendary, green conduits, and about 200 ilvl. Ww at around 200 ilvl and he apparently had the wrong legendary.
Sure I’m over geared at that rating, but they weren’t.
One shots are possible and more likely at lower hp/versa. But if you know what classes that does them and when, you play extremely defensive up until their offensives are on CD, then you make a go.
one obvious thing not mentioned here so far is spec. Many specs mentioned above are super strong, enh/ww/arms/hpal. Playing rdruid is another big disadvantage on top of low gear. Also some specs scale differently with stats, ww do incredible damage even with low gear.
im only chipping in cos im similarly low xp like the OP.
It´s not only about practice right now, how are you suppose to practice in Arenas around 1.400 rating with nearly 40k hp opponents (215-220 ilvl)? There is no way, you are getting smashed all around.
There is plenty of players stucked around 1.400 rat right now, things won´t get easier once you reach this rating, because players with nearly 40k hp continues queueing.
To me, it doesn´t make sense. I thought the purpose of getting progressively increase of gear by increasing your arena rating was to get players with similar experience to same level through the same gear to make games fair (betters win). But I was completely wrong.
Of course we do mistakes, it´s only 1.400 rating, so do opponents, we all want to learn to play better, but there is no chance right now because of players with nearly 40k hp (215-220 ilvl) queueing at 1.400 rating, even though they should have gear only around 207 ilvl.
So ye, analogy of needing a certain ilvl makes totally sense and i agree with this analogy.
Play RBG, 1800 is not hard for pugging. Above 1800 pure pugs grp is feed for any premade static - free rating. But once u reach 1800 u get 220 gear. I played 1 day/week and got full 220.
I dunno tbh, I tried playing on my 180-ish alt and would consistently die in 3 globals. Everytime I sac’d my m8 I would be forced to bubble as well even with wings up.
I’m not the best holy paladin out there, but I played it to high rival before. The problem isn’t even the hps output, but low healthpools.
