I was going to use it on one of my characters but I mean they dont breathe, they are literally undead. What is your opinion about this?
I reckon you’d have a hard time playing an instrument that’s reliant on air… which… you can’t inhale or exhale as you don’t breathe anymore.

You can talk, that means you move air through your vocal cords. Therefore you should still be capable of blowing air even if you don’t need it to live.

Very good point. Also maybe an undead would play it better since they dont need to inhale really, they dont need breath control.
Well, you’d need to inhale air to be able to blow it out… So there is that?

I would argue they would need even better breath control than normal given that they likely won’t notice if they are running out of air to blow as easily.
And they likely also still need to inhale in order to have anything to blow out.

This. It’s really one of those “they are magic” deals where there’s not much need to probe any further.
You could do something cool where a death knight who was a musician in life can’t practice their wind instrument anymore, because they’re frost aspected and the instrument just freezes over, but that’d be the opposite kinda flavour for what you’re after.
There’s also nothing to suggest that death knights can’t breathe in/out, even if the function doesn’t do anything for them and they consequently don’t bother.

Yes. But.
A truly dedicated undead could do away with some other unnecessary organs (imagine having to eat and drink) and install much bigger lungs, along with a mammoth’s diaphragm for when the flute playing gets serious.

May I sell you a foot pump? Thus you do not need the use of lungs of your own, just keep your foot tapping, and move your fingers - those that are still attached, that is.

I just read patch notes to accomplish the same.
Anyway, Devlynn Styx exists so undead sure do use their lungs.

If you can move the muscles that control your arm you can move the muscles that squeeze your lungs.
So yes, unless they have holes in their lungs.

In which case, throat sing and turn your upper torso into a bagpipe.
Also, death knights had an ability called runic horn in which they blew a magic horn to buff. Undead can definitely play wind instruments.
