Can and old item become Warbound?

Hi,

I have 6 very expensive armor items that aren’t obtainable anymore. Today I messed around with the Warbank for the first time a bit and I could’ve possibly put a couple of these items in the Warbank and put them in my normal bags on another character (can’t really remember). One thing I do know with a 100% certainty is that I didn’t equip the items today or recently.

Now to my question: I’ve noticed that 2 of the 6 items are Warbound and thus not sell-able through the Auction House. Could the Warbank caused the 2 items getting Warbound in some way? Note: that those 2 Warbound items might have been worn by me back in the day and back then, just had been put back in my bank after being worn. If that’s the case than I don’t understand why they are Warbound and not Soulbound. If they were not worn, than obviously I’m majorly screwed by them getting Warbound but I’d like to know for sure what could’ve possibly happened.

These are the 2 items that are Warbound: https://imgur.com/e1p5HZr
This is one of the same item only not Warbound (the rest is in AH): https://imgur.com/kU1koIQ

EDIT: Omg, i just realized what might have happened: my bag addon auto sells gray items to vendors (the items in question are gray BoE’s ). Earlier today I was at a vendor and the gray items were auto sold. No problem, I bought them back but now they are Warbound because of it! This doesn’t happen with Green, Blue, Purple or any other item that are sold to a vendor and bought back. Is this is a bug? Could a GM restore them back to non-Warbound? It’s hundreds of thousands of gold we’re talking about here.

Yeah I do not think a gm will be able to help you. Even if items are restored or brought back, you are informed that they will become soulbound (in the case of rare/epic gear atleast for sure).

If this really did happen because of an addon, then I would be REALLY surprised if they did anything, since it kind of is your fault.

It really isn’t because I just tested it with a couple of cheap gray items I bought from AH and manually sold them and bought them back, same thing happens.

The part you quoted was conditional on the “IF this really did happen because of the addon” :stuck_out_tongue: .

But yeah, whatever happened I do not think that anything can be done. But if you wanna try, go ahead to make a ticket.

The thing that is 100% sure is that nothing can be done in the forums.

Yes and that’s why I mentioned that doing it manually gives the same result. I’m gonna make a ticket.

Selling binds items to you, that is working as intended, whether you did it manually or with an addon that is correct.

I hope it wasn’t too costly a mistake :frowning:

That’s not true. Here in this video you can see me sell and buy back a green BoE and a purple BoE. Both of them stay BoE.

It’s usually vendor items vs drops. Vendor items do get buy back and retain BoE presumably within the 2 hour window. However any world drop does not. So a grey you buy from the AH, if auto sold by an addon, or even sold manually becomes warbound, many of those addons also auto sell any grey you already own the appearance for.

Granted it may seem confusing that there isn’t a whole standard approach and could probably do with some easier to understand set rules. But best of luck with your ticket, none the less.

Thank you for the additional information Punyelf but that still doesn’t match with what I see myself. In the video you see that the items I sell are (world)drops and not vendor items and they retain their BoE status. Unless I’m misunderstanding you?
