A player joined my +21, spammed chat and left before the first pull, resulting in my key getting nuked.
Firstly, my key shouldn’t be downgraded because a player decided to be a terrible person. Secondly, Blizz should take action against players who take pleasure in screwing over other players.
There’s nothing we can do when players intentionally nuke keys and I have to take all the risk when running my own key.
I’ll do it if they force me. Imo toxic players who take pleasure in ruining the game for others should be exposed, especially if they’re elite players think they’re the greatest
I would say it still behooves you to remove the name. Apart from it being against forum rules, posting it here really does nothing in the broader scheme of things. There is no gain to be made here.
On the subject: I still maintain that key depletion should not be allowed when a dungeon fails to complete, or at the very least, if only a small part of the dungeon is completed. That gives players a buffer to reform the group without bad feelings and try again.
Sure, just frustrating since I’ve never seen Blizzard ever enforce the “code of conduct.” Best they can do is ban players for offering lower priced goods on the AH
Sucks for you OP. I sincerely hope the player who did this gets a (temp) ban but unfortunately I doubt Blizzard cares or takes action. Not that this will get your key back but I use the Personal Blacklist addon for this.
Terrible idea. Would only induce crazy amounts of toxicity as the smallest mishap would prompt arguments by players demanding restarts and in general would only cause more leavers because “hey, you can restart without me”.
Wrote this in another thread but still stand behind this:
WoW M+ has one of the most lenient competitive systems of any game I’ve ever played:
Most important, you don’t lose rating when you fail to time (very nice!).
It still counts for your weekly vault when you fail to time.
You still get (slightly lesser) rewards when you fail to time.
There’s a small window where you can still earn points if you fail to time.
So yeah, pretty easy going and for me personally it’s more than fine if your key downgrades. Having some risk makes it more fun. I understand that it sucks when someone leaves the key early and it bricks your key but overall it shouldn’t affect your climb that much (I pug nearly everything).
game will be uninstalled immediately! I have no desire for such nonsense.
just like you say it gets hardcore abused.
too many players are behaving abnormally these days. I don’t even want to know what magical substances they eat or what exactly they drink.
but not even a psychiatrist helps them.
m+ in the 20+ level range is in very bad condition in my opinion. it shouldn’t get worse.
I think its the unknown difficulty of these systems.
U gotta make a system, and accept a audience is gonna get extremely mad because X or Y, but unable to fix it cause the second audience would just immediately abuse it and things would get even worse.
The leaver issue would go to a all time high if rhey were to attempt to address this, sadly i dont think theres a fix.
Punish leaving, and u will cause major trolling / afking issues, not to mention trapping 5 players who dont wanna be there in a group would become extremely toxic.
Remove depletion and watch leaving rates sky rocket to a all time high.
Or swallow another 8 years of this same complaint being pressed. Its easy to demand a change with a lack of foresight to how players will engage with a change,
Ive always run by, the best changes / additions created are built when the developer sees content from how the player will engage with it, and not a theoritical improvement on paper.
As you have to accept a system you design with a way of working in your mind, may not be the same way players interact with it when a released
This isn’t just about leaver. I understand that some people quit after wipes, maybe they want to time. The guy left immediately before first pull and spammed chat. He was clearly just taking pleasure from upsetting other players
If Blizz actually banned abusive players maybe this would happen less
Is pretty much basic logic, and even with how lenient the system is, puggin M+ is among the most toxic things I’ve faced in nearly 2 decades of online gaming. Now picture that only timed runs counted for the vault. It would be nearly impossible to complete a run because 90% of people would leave at the first sign of not timing the run, and rightfully so.
I agree there definitely should be consequences for doing what you described. But, moderating m+ runs would be a massive added workload to our already low quality GM service. Also, there are various degrees of griefing. This one sounds like a clear case, but there are others, indistinguishable from honest mistakes or simply par for the course for that player.
I actually don’t know why I keep bringing up the GM workload counterargument. It shouldn’t be the case.
this is clear case of griefing / deranking. 4 of you should use reporting tool to report deranking. if all 4 of your would use it it would be without doubt flagged in system.
its no more toxic then any other competitive online games
there is nothing blizz can do .
m+ is hard and people should accept it that it wont be always succesfull
last night i left like 5 groups in UR 17-18 because it would be impossible to time it with groups that (and like 5 other groups before key even started / stright after joining because it was clear case of 500-1000 player looking for free boost ) :
a) do like 50k st / 100k aoe in 18 as 2200-2300 score players
b) fail every single mechanic possible and die to everythign possible.
untill people start playing at their skills level it will always continiue to be “toxic”
i mean you want this as completion then mark your group as completion / for weekly GV - then people would know that what was supposed to be 20 minutes dungeon will be 2 hours nightmare.
Leaving keys will never be bannable im afraid, ud end up punishing geninue players, RL stuff happens and tbh u cant just get up and start banning players for that.
If they said they were doing it on purpose you can report them as that is against the rules.
I record all my runs on video, I’d advise you do too. If it happens again you can post the in context video and it won’t be shaming because it’s just sharing a video.
