I remember back in the day they said: BM hunter can solo elite mobs. is this still the case?
Yes but i recommend as a BM to get a Clefthoof pet. If you play one of the other two specs i recommend a Scalehide. These are currently the strongest pets for soloing.
thank you very much
Depending if your dps and if you want tenacity or bloodlust, spirit beast and courser are solid choices aswell because of inbuilt healing or dodge respectively aswell.
Spirit beasts healing has been nerfed. The leech from a ferocity is better. Coursers come in third best for soloing.
You still have to be careful, if you see your pet is going down, hop back and get as much distance as possible while you rez. Because the enemy will hit hard.
Ignore anybody who says bring a tank pet. Tank pets are actually squishier than any ferocity pet, the hp buff is useless.
Irtimid is completely right about clefthoof. It has the best healing and a defensive cooldown combo you could want. If you’re using BM
If not BM, any ferocity pet with a defensive, I recommend scalehides but that’s me.
Leech’s ferocity may not seem like much but a passive minor tick of health really adds up when you can put range between you and your target, speaking as a sv main, the dots can easily break your frost trap so trying to keep distance while trapping as a panic rez can be a bit awkward to get the hang of. But with plenty of escape tools you should be able to out run the dot timer and trap. Bm dots dont last as long and you should already be pretty far away with a range slow, tar, you should be good.
