Can I get banned for sending gold between accounts?

I have 2 accounts on the same server, since I played a bit of both factions in phase 1. I am no longer interested in playing my horde toon, so I want to post something on the neutral AH with my main account and buy it with the other to get the gold on my alliance characters.

But I am worried this will trigger the automated rmt detection system. I dont want to eat a 14 day ban.

Has anyone done this recently? Is it safe?

Nothing is safe right now, the system is a disaster. Beware!

Generally if you transfer gold between your own accounts it should be okay if they have the same names.

The issue is if someone report you for X or Y reason (e.g. gold selling) and the system track trading gold between 2 accounts, even if the report is not legit, that could trigger the ban.

I play on Era and we have some ppl banned cause mass reports or non-legit report. Just to let you know how automated the system is. And in some cases the report has not been lifted. On the other hand we have still bots going around (monkatos).

The anti-gdkp system just brought even more chaos cause instead of solving the real issues (bots and gold-seller etc.) they targeted and entire population strating a sort of witch hunt focused on gold trading.

It is wise to avoid gold trading. There are a few post on reddit where ppl have been banned after trading gold (even small amount) between accounts.

Like others have said , u should be fine in any other time .

Rn, chaces are u get banned automaticly because hurr durr gdkp rmt and whatnot ,and blizz for some reason cant make it properly .

If your gold is clean , u will get unbaned after appeal as they will check its not a rmt action or something cuz its same customers gold. This might take some time tho .

Honestly if u arent in a desperste need i wpuld wait till things settle down a bit , or if u can live with few days ban for nothing

If they are on the same battle.net account you will be fine.

They are not though

But u are listed as their owner right ? Meaning u can prove it in any way, same name on account owner , paid from same card etc ?

Also blizz can check location iirc so if they reaaaly wanted they could check those accounts were loged in regulary from same pc/adress

As far as i’ve heard, Yes.

If it’s “Too much” gold, like several hundreds, More than it would be reasonable for a level 40 to have without Illicit or Mallicious means

Yes, i own and pay for both accounts. But I doubt the automated system checks that before issuing a ban. And I dont want to have to appeal a ban and wait for days for it to be lifted. Maybe I’ll just hold off on this for a while. Its not gamebreaking amounts of gold anyway.

Gotta love how they cant just check and see that the accs are connected to the same email :stuck_out_tongue:

Bnet accounts can only be connected to 1 email at once, if you meant transferring gold between wow accounts on the same Bnet account this will not get flagged (unless it is illegal gold).

Its 2 different accounts on 2 different emails. Both owned and paid for by me.

Yea so I don’t think you’ll get whacked by anything if they’re in the same name, if they do get flagged you can easily prove they’re owned by yourself, in the same name.

There have been cases however where account A is in real name and account B is in fake but possible real name that you can get in trouble (e.g. not Donald Duck, but for example, Barack Obama.)
