I’d like to know whether it’s at all possibly to tie /laugh to a /cast macro without it potentially becoming spammy int he chat if the button is repeatedly pushed.
I’m leveling a slightly unhinged Undead at the moment, and laughing when activating Trueshot is a fun touch to his character - but repeatedly taping the button, as one might do in a tense situation, leads to the emote being posted to the chat several times.
What I’d like to know is whether or not I can somehow change this - it seems like a real shame that emotes should be relegated to obscurity because using them in macros to add a little flavor to your character inevitably results in spam and frustration.
Can I set conditions for it to only work once within a particular timeframe, or when the buff is active? Should I use an Outside condition to ensure that it’s disabled during raids and dungeons? Can I somehow make my character laugh without posting it to the chat?
Do you just want to play the laughing sound or actually leverage the emote?
If you want to leverage the emote the answer’s no.
If you just want to spam your own ears with the sound of laughter (or any other sound), go look up the sound on wowhead, copy the in-game link, and add it to your macro.
I’m not sure what you mean by leveraging the emote - do you mean including the animation? Because I supposed that would be part of it, although I guess it’s often quickly interrupted by a Rapid Fire anyway.
Admittedly I do find it a little frustrating that there’s apparently no way to use emotes without spamming people’s chats. Seems like an unnecessary limitation to their use.
A single /laugh is not spam. If anyone is that humorless that they’d be annoying to hear one every 2 minutes or less, they need to lighten up a little.
Have you considered muting your game, rather than demanding everyone be quiet?
