Is there a survival hunter build that avoids Kill Command as much as possible?
I don’t like the pets that are included with the Hero talents. With Pack Leader, pressing Kill Command summons (3) pets I don’t want. Sentinel also does something similar with an Owl I don’t want either. I don’t expect to make a change to the game myself, I am familiar with how the “game” is, and people on here throw rotten apples at you by suggesting changes.
I am simply returning to the game and I would like to know if I could select the 71-90 (presumably) talents that shall buff my pet without having other pets summoned. I figure if I select the Pack Leader talent and simply never press Kill Command than I’ll never have these pets summoned, there is not a glyph that means they are ‘my pets’, so I figure this is the best option. Like I said, I am returning to the game, if someone could help my with the talent tree, I would appreciate it. If simply not picking any of the Hero Talents is better, than I shall do that.

Kill command gives you focus and the tip of the spear dmg buff.
You simply can’t play without it, in fact it’s likely to be the ability you press the most, because you really want that dmg buff for all your other abilities. Not to mention that without it, you’ll be focused starved after the first few seconds.

No because KC is built into so much of your kit.
If you don’t want to kidnap rexxars pets, then choose sentinel and kidnap the elves moon chicken.
You’d think they would add glyphs for this stuff. But nah, you are rexxar or a night elf. Choose what animals you don’t want to see.

I found out last night that it generates 15-20 Focus, so I came to that conclusion very slowly.
It’s unfortunate because I would enjoy a beefier pet in Pack Leader, but I don’t want to look like a Beast Master Hunter at all. Neither one of them feel particularly ‘survival-ish’. Like you said, a glyph to replace Rexxar’s pets with just my (1) pet would be GREATLY appreciated here.

That’s kind of the crappy side of hero talents. You don’t get to do anything really unique you just slap on a rexxar hat and call it a day.
I’m still mad we didnt get a nesingwary tree with traps and guns… instead we get 2 elves.

I’d love to just have an option in the stablemaster like the bm hunters bonus pet.

I agree. As someone who enjoys some PVP, the way this spec relies on its pet is outright outrageous. If you used MC, which is a 45 second CD, you are SCREWED, especially so if caught in anything else other than a root. You are locked out of essentially EVERYTHING. I will never understand how that is considered engaging spec design….
