Hi there guys! I really want to start playing a hunter (haven’t played one since wotlk) but the fact that I’m pretty much forced to take animal companion talent makes me sick… I’m not sure if I’m the only person who absolutely hates this talents and imo it looks really stupid? For me the BM hunter is always been “you and you pet” not “you and your zoo”. So I was wondering how big is the dps loss if I decide to play without this talent? I’m not a mythic raider, but I do like to run M+ 15-20 keys and HC raids.

According to the Wowhead BM hunter talent guide, picking Killer Instinct instead will be a small DPS loss. So go ahead and do that.

Pick Killer Instinct instead. The difference between the two, as it stands right now, is fairly small.
You’re not the only one. We like what we like.
Personally, I’m the opposite. I would much rather have the option to go for dual main pets + having Dire Beast as it worked in Legion.
Beast Mastery isn’t just one thing. You can become a master of beasts in more ways than one.
