keeping ti short got a very bad pc will upgrade soon however can my pc run shadowlands ?prepatch i run at everything on low. Are all backend things in the game? Or are the new zones going to cause alot of stress?
8gb ram
amd radeon hd 6670
hd not ssd
amd a10 5800k APU
Your bottle neck is very likely CPU and not GPU related. WoW’s world takes barely anything to run.
Expansion launch could be an issue for you with high player density, but things like world quests, Torghast, doing your story and other solo experiences should remain the exact same.
so i wont be able to play with other player density in the new areas? or ill just lag a bit?
And when you say wow world take barely anything to run? There’s no chance my game crashes or doesnt open?
You’ll lag more if you’re around other people, which is common in most areas in the first week.
You’ll still be able to launch WoW and play. And the SL zones will remain just as easy/difficult for your GPU to run for the most part.
If you can play right now you’ll be able to play the same after SL launches.
Umm… i may be mistaken, but on the pre-patch launch… a few weeks ago, they also implemented any visual upgrades that the game may have had in plans for SL.
So basically, if you can log in now and play the game, then you’re good to go when they unlock the new zones to travel in.
You do realize the gpu he has, is like absolutely horrendous?
are u saying i wont be able to run?
there is a can-i-run it website that helps you check if u meet the minimum requirements for the game or not. If you can play pre-patch currently on live, u can play SL.
I dont meet mynimum as said
u are typing this from a retail char. Are u able to play the game right now?
So… did you log into the game now and can play it?
as said above. yes i run prepatch on low settings atm
then u will be able to play SL on low settings.
Pretty sure shadowlands maps are more demanding? The load times are certainly longer. As a guess you’ll be able to login and play, at a low FPS though. As above especially first week when maps are rammed with players.
Worst case scenario, close all apps running in backgroind you dont need. And get a ram cleaner/booster. Something like “game booster”, to save as much resources as you can.
Hd6670 is worse then a proper gpu from 2010. Same for the CPU it’s about 10 years old. Deffo time for an upgrade I’m afraid .
Go here and check if it’s good enough. Safe site.
Will it run, yes.
Will it run good enough? Depends on what you consider playable really.
That CPU is old and wasn’t going to be great for gaming anyways. Faster ram as possible you can get to help the GPU but it’s not going to be as fast as actual GPU card in the system.
You may have to save up for a new motherboard, cpu, ram and graphics card in the end. And it doesn’t have to be top of the range either.
But for AMD’s APU, you neeed the fastest timing ram that the chip supports with enough to give it the max number of gb and enough for system. So 16gb minimal, 32gb recommended for that sort of system.
However, saying that, you could just get away in just getting a graphics card and use that alongside the APU and get better framerate.
Early expansion could be an issue with lots of people playing in SL areas, but not sure how demanding SL zones are either, they are in higher quality than what we have now atm.
The only way you can find out is by trying out when SL comes out, see how your PC behaves and if it’s overheating or doing other shenanigans…you will need an upgrade, i’m afraid.
SL zones are worse for a computer than BfA zones.
Not having an SSD is very frustrating because of the long downloading delays.
All in all, your computer is setting you for a very bad experience even if you can actually run it.
What is considered barely anything?
There’s a good chance OP will lag come shadowlands expansion. Hes also using an apu that performs worse then seconth gen fx processors…
