Can I solo Rastakhan?

I’ve been hunting BfA transmogs. Some bosses were difficult and some even required me going frost for the pet to do the mechanics, but ultimately I’ve managed to do most that I had an interest in. However, there is one that I cannot complete no matter what I try. That is Rastakhan. When he transitions on 60% health, the fight just resets no matter what. Tried being frost for the pet, but the pet is sent down with me and it resets regardless.

Is there any way to solo this other than stacking determination to 10, popping every consumable imaginable and nuking Rastakhan during the cast that sends you downstairs?

Probably be your best option for now until Blizzard gets round to sorting out specific mechanics that “need” 2 players but as they still haven’t adjusted legion “2 man mechanics” I wouldn’t hold out hope for it anytime soon if at all.

I was able to deal with most of them in BfA. Either by nuking things that are supposed to require multiple groups, or by getting myself a pet. But Rastakhan is just impossible and phases out both me and the pet.

Legion Mythic Odyn was a major pain trying to separate the two mini-bosses before Odyn, although to be fair it is easy now in Unholy spec but the Coven of Shivarra is still hella annoying. I’ve not tried any BfA yet though, have to try them

Fixed now.

It is? Sweet I know what I’m doing when I get home from work.

They will surely make adjustments once soloing instances becomes a profitable branch of esports.

Speaking of Legion raids how far can people do mythic right now? I’m an ilvl 210 scrub who failed on Helya as well as 3rd boss in tomb.

Pretty much all of it. HoA still works in Legion content, so if you got that the essences provide some great value.

So people conquered solo mythic Antorus? I can’t wait for Dragonflight where it’s hopefully soloable in level 70 greens.

My mage can already solo some BfA raids, in fact! Antorus is quite easy.

Operation Mechagon is doable on Mythic as well. My Warrior has been running that place to get some transmogs from there. Hardmode is doable, but the 4th boss is difficult, due to time/speed issues. That disarm timer is very strict.

That’s literally not true They made the last of these changes in 9.1.5, now even Mythic Éonar and Aggramar are soloable.

I’d say Éonar is still pretty hard, it’s very tight to be at the right place at the right time. Same with Kil’Jaeden.
The rest are easy with season3 gear now.

Edit : in LFR you will have to burst before he finishes his cast. However, with enough determination stacks, it should be more doable.

Note that if you have a second account, you can get to bownsamdi’s phase if you get a second character to hug the wall in the 5th boss’s room.

In solo, he is Mechanically soloable, but that’s if you have a lot of Mythic gear and a class with a massive burst.

A hunter named Merci solo’d him Thursday (https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1pi4y1S7f7). If you prefer an English video I did mine today : https://youtu.be/c308DJ1ANWI.

Basically, get boss to 67%, wait for totem, pass him at 60% during his tank channel, and burst him before bwonsamdi kills you.
However, I was 275 ilvl and probably could have gone down to 5% max if I wasn’t a hunter - pets did 10% of the boss while I was hiding  .

Legion raids should be easy on mythic now assuming your character has at least full Zereth mortis, the only bosses who may… trip you up are as follows.

Emerald Nightmare.
Nythendra, her stack count rapidly rises to ten resulting in mechanic wipe if you take too long or have poor dps.
Ursoc the same, his debuff will kill you if you hang around.
trial of Valor

Odyn Mythic. Heimdall or Hyrja need to be bursted right off the bat and felled or separated to drop their shield. Either way you need good dps to drop the other mini boss before the first one revives. remember Odyn engages right after either Heimdall or Hyrja are defeated as second opponent but he’s just a simple case of hard nuking.

Nighthold. Only issue you should have is Guldan when the demon form phase kicks in, you need good burst to drop him before his mechanics kill you.

Tomb of Sargeras.
Maiden. As always, find a way to have the explosions fire you into the wall and not into the chasm.
Avatar. Using the same solo trick using the maiden will get you through the avatar, if he manages to heal right up when he smashes the floor you need good burst as the lava scales to your level. It will kill you quickly.
Kil’Jaeden. Only real issue is the knockback and the transition phase when you have to find Illidan to reveal the enemies.

Antorus I’m still only up to Eonar on mythic, only issue I have yet to overcome is the transition on the ship before it mega nukes eonar.

I cleared mythic Emerald Nightmare last season, it’s pretty easy honestly, Nighthold I somehow managed to get up to Gul’dan in season 2 but lacked the dps to kill the demon within.

Trial of Valor I managed to kill Odyn this season (I think they adjusted it so they don’t regain their shield once you separate them or something like that) but I die on Helya right now.

Tomb of Sargeras is a different beast, like I’ve said my paladin is only ilvl 210 gotta progress her more.
