If I buy a name change can I switch my character names between each other? Or do I need buy 3 character change in this case?
For example:
character1 = name1
character2 = name2
I wanna name character2 with name1. Is it possible to do it like that? Or I need to change name1 to name3 then name2 to name1 and name3 back to nameWHATEVER ?
You can drag their names on the name panel to the desired location, if this helps.
Just move them up or down & they change position around the fire.
I think you can just buy 3 namechanges. I read somewhere that you can change inside your warband without getting locked out of the name.
I miss the days where you could just delete one of the two characters and restore it later. It would force you to a “free” name change. Not possible anymore. 
It is, but your character needs to be deleted for 45 days (and they need to fix restoration in general aswell)
Are you sure? The restore button is just unavailable and it says it will be back soon.
Did they confirm that once it’s back that won’t work anymore?
I did try it some time ago and it wouldn’t let me restore the character because I had another one with the same name (the new one). Iuna said that you can wait 45 days now, but it used to be instant.

It may be 3 days to rename the first character you namechanged. But no one can take that name in the meantime.
But can I rename character1 to a name that has character2 already? Like switch the names within my warband?
I think you need to rename character 1 to something else, then wait three day.
for instance:
Tom
Mike
Tom → Bill
Mike → Tom
3 days wait
Bill → Mike
Oh, so you really need to buy 3 name changes? Ouch
False. When df came out I deleted my mage to use the name on my evoker. Could use it immediately. Don’t think I waited that long to restore it
Isn’t that something bannable like an exploit? What if the character cannot be restored anymore?
The name change facility does not allow for two characters to be changed at one time. You would need to pay for three character name changes to do this.
I just did this with two characters on my account. I changed the first character name over to something else, and then took that name onto a second character on my account. There would be nothing to stop you changing the first character to the now available second character’s name at that point.
Charging money for name changes is so outdated. They should make it free, just like they made apperance changes free. Names are as much a part of character customization, as gender, hairstyle and eye color is.
I understand putting a paywall on race changes, as racials actually affects the gameplay, and people would abuse it, if it was free. But names are just cosmetic.
Why would it be? Their still my chars?
learn how to read man, deleting the character and making a new one with same name is possible but u cant restore the character with the original name for 45 days aslong as u have a character with its name
It can aslong as the character is above level 10 its restoreable for X amount of time and above lvl 50 i think it is, it will never be fully deleted
