That might struggle to slow down enough for medium setting, you probably need to set it to high settings just to be safe.

You might not even be able to run retail. It’s probably good idea just to stick to classic.
Serious answers please guys.
Most certainly. You are well above the minimum requirements:

The 3050Ti is the closest thing to a bottleneck, but a 1080p on the inbuilt display, you won’t have a problem. Doubt you’ll drop much below 60fps. If you ran it to say a 1440p monitor, then you’ll find places where you get dips, but at medium details I imagine it’ll be fine. You might well be able to step up to higher.
I personally find 16gb is very limiting but mileages vary. WoW typically eats 3-5gb of memory so it’s all about what else you have running in the background.
Also, treat yourself to an upgrade of the Windows license from Home to Pro. Home will have you doing updates or other maintenance whenever the heck it feels like. Pro can be told how to get out of your way and not pester you right now.

Well sry I thought this topic was a joke because your laptop is more than enough to run WoW in even more than medium.

Sorry I got the GPU wrong, see edited OP.
You’re beyond fine. 1440p near max easily.
I managed to run WoW on a Steam Deck. Your laptop is way more powerful than that.

Pro is the same. And it’s awful.
If you’re tired of inconvenient time for updates you have 3 choices: Get an enterprise license and manage the PC from the PC itself. This is not realistic.
You can also go to the Mac. While the Mac does do some nagging it never just installs anything.
Finally you can go to Linux. It notifies you but never nags and never updates automatically.
Don’t pay €120 to not really solve it lol.
All 3 OS’s can run WoW so that’s not an issue.

Yeah, I run a 3060 and outside of raids it doesn’t struggle with max settings at 1440p. Does slow down to ~45fps in heavy action. I suspect most of my problem is my old CPU, only runs 4ghz and old tech so it’s probably about 60% as fast as a good modern one.
So you think I can run Ultra and never dip below 45 fps?
Also I keep seeing 1440p not sure what that means/has to do with my specs?
1440p is a popular resolution of 2560x1440. The majority of 27-32" gaming screens use it, so it’s a good common denominator when discussing how well systems perform.
Your internal screen is only 1080p however, 1920x1080, which is about half as many pixels and will therefore get higher fps out of the same hardware.
You can almost certainly run max details on the internal screen over 60fps when solo or in small groups. Raids and battlegrounds may slow you down, or may not. I can’t really judge.
1440p is a screen resolution. You probably heard of 4k displays/TVs, well 1440p is not as good as 4k but its better than 1080p resolution that has been a standard for many years.
I’m confused, is this a new kind of weird flex kind of thread?

The laptop should run Dragonflight fine, laptops running a processor two generations back are playing fine in Shadowlands with the same graphics chip.
I’d hazard a guess and say that setting 10 will be perfectly fine for outdoor content but you may want to lower it to 7 for raids/dungeons or any other scenario with a high amount of spell effects.
yes tbh/…just remove shadows and fluid detais

Idk if that setup is good enough even for minesweeper…

Would be nice if a native client came to Linux instead of having to use Lutris/Wine etc.
