Can anyone give me some actual constructive advise on fixing this issue. I often cannot log in to wow first time and after pressing Play 4 - 5 times it randomly opens 5 windows?
I have deleted Cache, run as admin, re installed and still nothing. Is this just a general issue or am i alone?
Pure speculation as to what it could be.
Most of the time, repeated logins are an indication of ddos defenses.
I have a similar problem. Often when launching a game from the Blizzard launcher, only the launcher minimizes (which should happen oupon launch as I’ve set it to do so). When I open taskmanager, I actually find the game is running, but apparently in the background. This happens to every version of wow I’ve tried, including the test servers.
Every time it happens, I also see the Blizzard updater being very active in taskmanager. Usually when this quiets down I’m able to launch my games (any of them) normally.
I’m no IT specialist, but it appears to me the updater checking or running in the background is somehow causing my games to launch in the background too.
I have it a lot especially for retail wow. you start wow and it opens only 5 min later. And if you open multiple times you get all those windows at once 5 min later, very annoying
It is because they are trying to cut down on server load, long story short.
I open WoW not from launcher, but from shortcut to C:/ … [path to your World of Warcraft index] … World of Warcraft_classic_\WowClassic.exe" - works every time.
Only open launcher when update.
I had starting issues from last patch but running the repair tool fixed them. Have you tried that?
Ive run scan and repair and pretty sure ive run the repair tool but will do so again just in case thank you : )
If the game is updating you cannot open it. If it’s fully updated then something on your computer is blocking it.
I would suggest asking in the tech forums about it.
