At least with the newer mogs? I bought the new store transmog yesterday since it’s quite nice and the 50% off brought it down to a reasonable price, however the hood on this mog still makes your character bald lol. I generally avoid helmets and hoods because of this, but the constellation effect the hood on this mog piece has is quite pretty.
There’s gotta be some kind of technology for this by now right?
Only if you want mega hair clipping. Maybe there should be a toggle in the options menu.
I mean, yeah. You can hide parts of the hair that intersect with your helmet. Wow’s engine cannot do this though. And i believe it is rather CPU intensive too. Might have to be limited to your character only (meaning other people would still see you bald).
The constellation effect comes from the cape and the shoulders, you’re free to unmog the helm. xD
Edit: Besides the shoulders, the helm has one as well… looks fine without it.
Yeahh, I’m gonna try and replace it with the silver crown from the Mythic Jaina raid as it looks quite nice. Just need to luck out with getting it to drop hah.
What they can do would be, for example, as a workaround to add a model of specific hairstyles that isn’t the same hair entirely but still doesn’t turn you bald.
Example: a pirate’s hat can leave a ponytail, or even most hairstyles would work with it but instead we lose our hair and get a near bald hairstyle instead, draenei guys even lose their tendrils (yes, experienced it personally), most hats don’t even leave that much hair. It’s noticeable and nobody likes it.
I don’t see why it would be. Changing items changes your model. Hair has barely any physics in wow as well. The difference should honestly not even be noticeable in resource consumption. I honestly believe it’s just more work nobody wants to do.
