I am trying to bind the “special ability” - key that by default is placed in the middle of the screen in various settings. I am aware you can move the ability down on your action bars, but I’d actually like to keep it in the middle of my screen, but have that default position bound.
To mention the first examples I can think of, your “garrison ability”, or when you pick up the flasks at last boss in Waycrest Manor, or your class hall companion ability, etc.
What is this botton named in the keybinds interface, so I can bind this ability regardless of which one is active, to a key, without moving it to my action bars?
If I recall it correctly it actually is the “Extra Action Button 1”. However, the Garrison ability and Class hall (follower) abilities look the same but are NOT that extra action button.
…in other words I have no guarantee that that bind will work if I set a default one intended for all those types of abilities?
The entire point was for me to know that if I get an extra action button on my screen, I will always know what key to push to make it work. Sigh. Might send in a suggestion on that. I don’t see why it can’t be a shared bind to all those abilities.
Not sure about the Class hall follower, but the Garrison ability is NOT the same.
Extra Action Button 1 is the button for situational abilities that you might get in a raid, or certain quests. I have it bound, and use it regularly. But Garrison and zone abilities from Draenor are something else.
As long as I don’t get a unpleasant surprise that it doesn’t work with the bind I have set it too, in vital situations, I can live with the garrison one and the class hall one not working. I just don’t like that I have no idea if even more of these abilities are of that kind, in situations where it’s important that I use the ability at the right time.
Already taken me way too long getting that bind sorted…
That’s a clever take! Still, in that case, the garrison ability and ally will still appear as a separate button in the EAB1 position on screen, since they are not bound elsewhere.
Well, as long as everything else but the companion on the garrison ability works, I’m settled. It worked for a WQ I just did, so hopefully it will work for dungeon/raid abilities too.
