Hi
I’ve just picked this rogue up after a good while and I’m having fun in dungeons with Assassination… until I try and do AOE damage.
Not sure if I’m just being dumb but I’m trying to dot everything up and it is still abysmal. Anyone got any tips for this? I’ve never really properly played a rogue in dungeons so I’m not sure if I’m doing wrong.
Will probably try sub at some point too!

trouble with assa in aoe is you do indeed dot things to aoe but if the mobs die too quickly, which they probably do if you’re doing low keys or m0s or something, you kind of just spend the whole time putting up dots that barely get any value before the mobs die so you’re a bit sad. on the other hand, if everything is dying so fast and easy that you can’t do anything, then it doesn’t really matter if you’re being effective or not in some sense so.
check out wowhead’s guide, those are quite decent usually i think.

Approx %40 crit, %30 mastery. Wear zoldyck on leg slot. Dom socket missing. Find a Slyvanas dagger and wear it on your off hand. Go with Subterfuge, not master assa. Do not play assassination. Do not play rogue.
I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of it! Actually having a great time 
re roll monk, get a tank to constant tripple or quad pull, get 100-110k dps, win
to ensure it get a warrior arms with you and a frost mage. no need to play rogue except if you are questing for fun
This is the last expention and last season I enter high content. I will never forgive and forget what they did to that class.
Dunno they are different classes I think a good assa rogue against a frost mage can win in ST Fight tbh also against a warrior. In m+ my job as rogue isn’t getting highest dps on thrash packs what try to do it interrupt the most important spells immo and burst down the highest hp mob or am I totally wrong?
You are wrong yeh. All melee dps and all range dps have equivalent cds on interrupts. All should try the same equally for interrupts. Rogues like mages are pure dps class. No heal spec no tank spec no versatile playing. Either daggers and fan of knives/shuriken storm either swords and BF. Thats all you get. Meaning that they should be at the top dmg tier (again together with mages and other pure dps classes like locks etc).
My monk pal pull 110k dps e.g. on a full pull of the poison wing in TOP…110k dps…my boomkin does ~22k dps single target in any boss m+ (obviously with cds).
So being a pure dps class and doing what you should do BEST, mediocre means someone has done a mistake…and this mistake is being done for too long not to be on purpose.
Ok now you say it MONK no way there is a rogue that can get that dps in AoE

Do not question yourself. If you are dealing same overall damage with monk or huntard geared -10 ilvl then you, you are doing nothing wrong. Good luck. And have fun while you can.
Take it from me spare yourself the scuffed aoe trauma and go sub
