we can socket a “neck” from auction house with the medallion item (upto 3). but with this weekly vault item, can we x4 socket???

Add a socket to an item that DOES NOT already have one.
I wouldn’t think you could add it to the Lariat.
Read it. It says “Add a socket to a Dragonflight Season 1 item that does not already have one”.
So I would guess if you have already added 3 sockets with the JC thingy, then you won’t be able to add another one.
But if you do it the other way around?.. I would imagine it would be hot fixed pretty quickly.
but then, the auction house items are all “blue”, while this one is “epic”… why would blizzard make it on the neck anyways then? maybe change the slot to feet or something?
I’m not sure why the colour of the item would be relevant.
It’s a bonus/booby prize for when your vault is bad and you can add it to gear from season 1. I’m not sure crafted gear even qualifies but I’d have to dig deeper into that to be sure.
colour matters in this game, that’s with “rarity”. either way, i’m addressing this because it’s kinda silly if we cant “4th socket” an item. if we can’t, they have to redesign it so we could socket maybe feet, legs, or shoulders.
No colour does not matter. The fact that we can craft purple items is wholly irrelevant to their standing that if something has no socket and is season 1 gear that it can have one of these used on it.
Items that already have sockets are not eligible.
That’s purely going by the wording on the item, quoted in your screenshot.
either way if that’s the case with what you’re saying that we can’t socket neck, they have to change it to something else as i mentioned earlier.

Not everyone will fork out for a Lariat and those people can use the socket.
doesn’t change the fact for others who can afford all 3 sockets, and want to minmax like myself 
just change the item slot, no point arguing here when both you and i know there is a mistake here from blizzard’s side
Makes no difference. You’ll “finish” your sockets faster, be happy.
