Can someone please explain what do I need to do to get class mounts?

There are so many guides but as far as i can see they are all outdated. Most of them say that after you complete Breacing the Tomb achievement, but as far as I can see thats no longer the case. I even found Blizzard stating that you only need to complete that achievement on only one character on your account. So if i have that achievement on at least one character what else do I need to do to get my class mount?

Do the legion class hall campaign. That’s pretty much it.

Edit: To be more specific. Each class hall has their own quest for mounts. So if you have done it on a priest, you need to do it again on warrior.

Some class halls have multiple mounts, based on spec you need to buy for whatever the resource was for legion.

Unlocking Your Class Mount

With the release of patch 9.1.5, you only need to complete the achievement “Breaching the Tomb” on one character across the entire account. Once you have the achievement on one character, you will need to complete the Legion campaign on each individual character you wish to obtain the mount on.

High level characters may need to enable tracking of Trivial Quests to see the Legionfall campaign quests:

  1. Click on the Magnifying Glass icon next to the in-game Minimap
  2. Make sure Trivial Quests is checked

Ohhh well thats great.

Does anyone know how much time on average does it take to do the whole class hall campaign. Are any things time-gated?

It should be doable in a day or two. There are couple of things that are sort of timegated, the broken shore WQ’s (you have to complete certain amount of WQ’s and there are cooldowns on WQ’s).

Also, you need to beat a legion invasion and the usually the last part needs a group of 3 people to do, so getting a 2 other random players on a 6 years old content might take a while.

There was also a quest in Broke Shores where you had to kill demons for a low droprate item, that is the most frustrating part of the unlocking class mounts IMO

But arent broken shore quests considered “Breaching the Tomb”, so they only need to be done on one character?

I’ve only just these last few days got the class mount for my Hunter alt and you are correct in saying, that alot of those guides (including the wowhead one) are a tad out of date.
They all claim u need to complete the order hall campaign and obtain the achievement and then complete the “Breaching the tomb” achievement. However you really don’t
Here’s what I did, hopefully it will make things easier than it was for me and save you a lot of wasted time watching and reading old guides.
Complete the order hall campaign and get the achievement (A Glorious Campaign)
Complete all of the quests from light’s heart (the naaru shard in your order hall)
Start working your way through the “Breaching the Tomb” achievement. After you’ve completed a few you’ll have to meet someone in your order hall, where you will start a quest for the mount.
I also didn’t do them in a specific order, I went between broken shores and order hall in a botched attempt to pick up quests and didn’t get the one for the mount until I’d completed the one from the Naaru shard and I only had about 5 or 6 completed on the Breaching the Tomb achievement. I still havent got that achievement, so you dont need to complete it at all, just get to a certain point in it.
Hope it helps and good luck with the mount hunting

OK, if that is the case, it will speed up things a bit. Another timegating comes to my mind is that some of the order hall campaign quests requires to complete few missions from mission table to collect items from those missions and that might take some time, waiting for those missions to complete

Wait what?!

I think i got like 5 chars on the quest for collecting 100 thingies on the broken shore  Very possible i got the class mounts on them now? I didn’t check in ages.

There is a part in the class hall campaigns where you need to do a series of mission table stuff which is timegated in the sense that
A) you need to wait for it to finish
B) if you haven’t leveled up your troops yet, you will need to do that first

Yes, you have to do a little waiting for a few of those companion quests, but in general you can pretty much finish the entire thing in a few days. I think there may be a raid or 2 in there aswell, but they should be easy peasy at your level now. If not feel free to inv me ingame and I’d be glad to come help

I recently did the Priest Class mount.
I did the whole Order Hall campaign. Some stumbling blocks here were dungeon quests, I created a group with my main and used my max level main to do most of the dungeon stuff and Alt-F4ed and logged in my Priest to get a tag or click on a thing where needed. If you have a friend to help you then this should be easy. Or if you’re already max level then you can solo them.
Then there were the Mission Table quests. There are items that are account bound that improve the quality of your followers (can’t remember them all but I’m sure google can help).
I started the Breaching the Tomb achievement and during me doing this they removed this requirement, so I didn’t finish that achievement.
I picked up a quest on the Broken Shore to begin a questline that got me the Class Mount.

I don’t remember doing the Naaru story mentioned above (but maybe I just did it without thinking?).

just do all the quests in legion while levelling your followers for mission table

i think depending on which order you do things in, it usually gets completed during the order hall campaign. I did things in a pretty disorganized order, so I received the final part of it, which I believe was the Black Temple quest just after I completed the order achievement

Dont you also need several class hall missions? Or are the timers irrelevant now ?

I’m pretty sure they’re nerfed at the very least. I did it on this character last month, and while I don’t remember how long it took back in Legion all missions only took about 1 hour each.

I went to get the class mounts for most classes a few weeks ago and noone here mentioned getting their last follower :open_mouth: Do you not have to do this anymore? If it helps, here is what I did:

  1. Get Breaching the Tomb on one character
  2. Do class campaign
  3. Go to Khadgar (on Krasus Landing, not Violet Citadel!) Get the first quest and skip the intro scenario for the Broken Shore
  4. Don’t accept any quests on the Broken Shore except for the one Maiev gives you that tells you to recruit your last follower
  5. Go back to your order hall and do the questline to recruit the last follower
  6. Enjoy mount questline

I hope this helps but if you don’t have to recruit the last follower anymore you can just skip steps 3 -5 :3
Edit: Because I got the mounts on several classes simultaneously, here is another tip that made it a lot easier for me: When you get to the point when you can’t continue because of a mission taking time to complete or whatever just start with another class  This way you will be able to work towards these great mounts whenever you want to and won’t have to wait which also means that you will be able to get the mounts faster \o/

Download the addon BtwQuests and make sure to get the Legion module too. Ingame do: /btwquests (if I remember correctly), select what you’re out for and it shows you what you need to do and what you’ve already completed.
