I am kind of confused on this one, because as i now undeath cannot be cured, although it may be only true for zombies. Lor’themar says something like “this land will never be the same again” in the belf heritage armor questline , and he may refer to something else, but I think he was talking about the land being plagued and filled with zombies.
On the other hand I heard that the Cenarion Circle and the Earthen Ring are working on restoring it , and they’ve made some progress. I even got a quest on my belf mage from a nelf to plant seeds in ziggurats, and she said that life can always return or something.
So my question is that does it work everywhere? If yes, how does this whole thing work? Do they dig out the dead earth and replace it with living or do they bring back dead flora to life and make the soil fertile again? The only thing I know is that Thrall said that it feels great to breathe in polluted air and breathe out clean air in Tides of War.
I vaguely remember a quest in the Belf starting areas that suggested they couldn’t heal the dead scar but i may be remembering it wrong.
Conversely Lordaeron and Felwood seem to have patches of healed land so there is hope.
I hope they do progressively heal and restore plagued areas, in Lordaeron, Quel’Thalas and Kalimdor. And start healing up the cataclysm damage too.
As to how they do it, I’m not sure it’s ever mentioned. They seem to just plant and encourage growth which naturally negates the corruption but thats just me guessing to be fair!
There is progress in renewing the efforts of fixing plagued land in the Western Plague… lands by the Argents, so it’s not an impossible thing. May just be that new methods have been adopted since that quest that said the Dead Scar couldn’t be healed.
The Dead Scar is different from the lands around it. The corruption there is stronger than on the surrounding lands. When you quest there you learn that the corruption cannot be healed, but the attempt is made with arcane magic. Not holy or nature magic.
The Plaguelands are being fixed by druids, if I’m not mistaken. And where the undead curse is being healed is always with the help of druids. So I think the problem isn’t that the Ghostlands can’t be healed, but that the blood elves used a type of magic that can’t heal the undead corruption.
The corruption on the Ghostlands seems unchanged even after the Sunwell was restored to become a fountain of holy and arcane magic. This leads me to believe that those types of magic cannot undo the undead corruption and that the only hope is nature magic.
What you said.
It’s slow, but it’s better than nada.
Plaguelands can be healed, provided that someone can kick out the degenerates and their greenskin allies that keep replagueing that place every year or so for good.
Western Plaguelands already looked better than Tirisfal in Cata and even Eastern Plaguelands have shown some signs of healing. As for Tirisfal, funilly enough, the first signs of returning to normal came when the Alliance wrecked it in BfA. Just go to the new version, look at the sky, talk to the bronze dragon and look at the sky again. That’s the wonder of kicking out the greenskins!
Is it also true that Ghostland and Eversong Forest are in a time bubble stuck before the event of the Sunwell and the phased tecnology. It will be so cool to have an updated story for the Blood Elf but apparently in 10 years Blizzard showed that Belf are not and they will never be a priority.
Maybe in some of the next expansions or if Silvermoon Warfront happens
which won’t happens considering the expansion is almost over and Horde and Alliance will be friends again soon picking flowers.
We’ll See Quel’thalas Healed the day.
Thrall’s Children got their own Unique Models.
Oh and All Racial Leaders got a Unique Model three times over.
Stormwind or Orgrimmar Updated x99.
Or you know When Lor’themar Becomes Warchief, nah we Still won’t see Quel’thalas updated still.
Well, in the warcrimes novel and one the short stories for the expansion, the one where the Windrunner sisters meet, the Ghostlands are described as being just as corrupted as before. So that makes think they remain the same.
That much is probably true.
In Warcraft 3 campaign, when Malfurion is there with Tyrande to stop illidan he senses that the land is troubled but also senses some great power beneath.
So it can go anywhere from an Old God to I dont know a death force villain or something…
So story-wise , I doubt they will be healed/restored anytime soon.
But Nature and Holy magic would definately have a better effect than Arcane towards that.
