Can trial characters loot transmog from world bosses?

So one piece of the ToS Normal set is unfortunately dropped by one of the Nether disruptor bosses in The Broken Shore. The Nether disruptor is up like once a month, and there is a 1/4 chance of the boss appearing, AND THEN there is the usual minuscule chance of it dropping the actual item you want.

Obviously, this is a way worse chance than acceptable, so I wonder if there are any shortcuts to have more chances. So… do trial character work? I know they can’t loot mounts from world bosses because those were specifically disabled to prevent such farming, but is it the same for regular gear, or do they work? If anyone knows one way or the other, it’s much appreciated.

I imagine that depends if the mob is classed as a rare

  • Class Trial characters cannot loot rare mobs, rare mounts, or treasures

The only other post I managed to find was from 2016 so I’m not sure if that information is still current. It’s in the comments under this article:-

  • Class trials can be used to learn appearances of armor and weapons, useful for people without plate/cloth/leather user alts. You will also get the trial armor appearance. Additional armor pieces are in an openable bag in your backpack. If you decide to delete the character, it will still keep the appearances.

Thank you for all this, but it’s still inconclusive  I know trials can be used to actually learn the appearances, which is why I had trials on each server for each armor type (and sometimes weapon type), of which I didn’t have an actual, character, so I could send BoE’s.

It’d be nice to know if anyone ever tried killing the Legion world bosses with trials and whether they got any loot from it.
