It’s a very outdated concept… I have seen hundreds of rogues make awful mistakes and have their cheat death proced because they didnt press defensives, only to be recovered by their healer and then win the game. For me personally, this is really bad design, you’re literally rewarding bad plays by removing the concept of losing a game - dying. I have lost so many games in every rated bracket because we invested so much into killing the guy, only to result in a cheat death into void shift by a priest, NS by a resto druid etc - and then the game resets completely.
It’s a very toxic passive… and makes rogues get many undeserved wins over other classes. Combine this with the popularity and obviously overpowered toolkit, and you have people literally existing with 300+ rating above what their skill level is, due to bad design.
At least by the words of people who have played the class for many years, you’re supposed to win if you play correctly. Not dying where another class would have died is really bad design, for a supposedly “squishy leather class”.
Of all the things there is to complain about you complain about cheat death? Ability that is in wow since ancient times? It’s a long passive defensive cooldown with the intention to protect rogue from immidiate death, and even then, there are ways to burn through it anyway.
That’s a lie, many classes have some sort of their own “cheat death mechanics”, like the autoheal proc on shamans and druid for example. Priests have angelic bullwark too.
A warlock talks about cheat death. Remove HS also, or dark pact. Lock is atm one of the hardest classes to kill, the selfheal is too insane yet you still cry.
its a pve thing for progress raid but i guess one could find use for it in this shuffle if they can get away with cheesing little bit more dmg before die
Like Zaggra said if we would tune cheat death with this logic that u can “cheat death” we would also need look into dozen other talent and class mechanic that either pop something automagic or gives u 30-40% heal when drop on 20% hp etc which game is full of
Zaggra are u vulcan on real? always with the flawless
just now in AWC “Tony… so greedy… didn’t use cos at 10% and managed to survive with only vanish” meanwhile cheat death is off cd
so rogues can hold on their def cds while other classes have to constantly gamble with big decisions, it definitely looks like an unfair advantage
All those games, and you still haven’t learned that cheat death will happen, and played accordingly. If you are taken by surprise by this, resulting in a game loss, is that the spell’s fault? Or maybe your insistence that this spell is toxic or op or unfair somehow is preventing you from adjusting your gameplay accordingly?
