Can we Get a Blue Response to TBCC WOW Token :)

Care to explain how you think its backward?

Sure.

First, I agree that the boost is kind of minor, but it still does give an advantage. Otherwise nobody would pay for it.

Second, Tokens will only make gold buying worse and more wide-spread because it would then be legal without risking a ban. Also, ppl will not stop farming because of tokens (the gold you get from tokens are coming from other players).

The real issue is that there are no GMs taking care of gold buyers and bots. This also ties in with the boost, because using the boost on bots makes it more profitable.

Fair point, I neglected to take into consideration the fact that the value of the token is based on players buying it in the AH so farming would still be busy. But I still donā€™t see its introduction being a huge issue whilst people are buying from third party sites, now if as you say they had more GMs to crack down on bots & gold selling then Iā€™d be 100% against any token being introduced.

You gain 58 levels over them, are you kidding me? How dense can you be? The game starts at level 1! The current content is 1-70.

Ban them! Donā€™t introduce an easier way to cheat! FYI I have a friend that actually got baned for buying gold and everything he had on the character was stripped away. So yeah, WoW token = sanctioned cheating.

It is currently possible to buy TBC wow gold without breaking the ToS.

  1. Buy WoW token from store
  2. Sell WoW token on retail AH to collect retail gold
  3. Trade retail gold for TBC gold

Trading gold between servers and between TBC/Classic/Retail is within the ToS. There are discord servers setup to facilitate this where there are verified middlemen who take a cut to handle the swaps so that players donā€™t get scammed.

Introducing WoW tokens directly into TBC will greatly simplify this process and eliminate the risk of getting scammed.

Honestly that should be banned as well. Classic should have nothing to do with retail, as it is supposed to be a fresh start, from a time where we didnā€™t have AAA features.
Instead of making the process easier, people who do that should get a ban.

Itā€™s far too late to do that as it has been occurring since Classic WoW release.
Such ideas should have been put forth before the release, but instead, we got batching.

They were, but the devs ignored them. Week 2 of Classic release people were spaming they were selling retail gold for classic gold. I reported all of them, but Blizzard sanctioned it. We made forum threads and there is an official blue post on the NA server, saying itā€™s ok to trade retail gold for classic gold, which just baffles me. Why would you ever release a 16 years old version of a game, that has its economy tied to the current verion? Why would you ever think this is a good idea? So, because classic gold, suddenly had an official price tag, due the retail WoW token, let the botting begin!
Oh and btw there was a fix it. Restart the game in TBC. Instead of having continuation, just leave classic be classic and release fresh TBC server, this time making sure you ban anyone trying to trade retail gold for tbc gold. But that requiers time and effort and we all know that itā€™s not how the company operates.

Nope the current content is from 60-70, youā€™re being disingenuous to suit your argument. The boost is a catch up mechanic, the same way they made the leveling process a lot faster as a catch up mechanic. 1-58 is old content not current.

So what are Blood elfs and Draenei then? Not current content? You should have told me that, 2 years ago. Iā€™d make a Blood elf back then, oh waitā€¦

Why is it payed then? Why is it avialable to people who already have level 58+ characters? Itā€™s not ment for them, right?

Why is there a boost then?

The boost is not a catchup mechanic. The boost is ā€œI will sell you 100 hours worth of powerā€ mechanic. Iā€™m baffled at the arguments from people who defend the boost. Who think 40/47 zones being dead is a normal thing. Who actualy believe that they arenā€™t paying to win in a game, where time investment is direct character power.

Pay 2 Skip, okay now thatā€™s the boost! Agree

Something we agree on, that and being more active in banning bots too I feel.

Thatā€™s why you cannot boost them.

Blizzard like their money.

How can you compare power and time.

It is, I have been levelling a hunter and I see 2 or 3 people, which was just like it was before the boost, most people had already levelled to 60. I stopped levelling the hunter to level a Shaman when TBC came out.

Wait what mate? How is paying to dkip 57 lvls any different from lets say skipping honor farm? Explain it to me pls

well if th yput token in to game i quit

stop defending greedy-old blizzard mate. Itā€™s pointless

Pay to skip is pay to win mate

You donā€™t win anything, you gain no advantage over those doing current content. It is simply not pay to win. You can call it pay to catch up or pay to skip old content but it isnā€™t pay to win.
