Can we get max level mob scaling for old content enjoyment? (Optional Toggles)

I’m new to retail and i’ve been absolutely loving it. Kul Tiras was a blast, and despite not initially enjoying The Maw I enjoyed the story and cutscenes of SL. Coming from experiencing Vanilla only the presentation of BFA [the bit I saw] and SL was very nice.

I fully understand WoW isn’t really a levellers game anymore, but I’d love to see some optional NPC toggles for those of us who really want to crunch out loremaster and achievements.

My main is my favourite class, and while I very much appreciate chromie time; I’m going back and doing old content for tmogs and just enjoying the storylines. There’s so much content in this game to enjoy, I just wish it was presented a little better, like a whole other pandora’s box for those who want to persue it.

Like Chromie time, can we choose to have all enemy mobs scale to max level via an NPC like the level locker dude? One hitting enemies is handy for quick tmog runs, but i’d like a bit of danger. It would annoy a lot of people to make this compulsory, so that’s why I propose a volunteer toggle of this option.

Also some kind of scaled rewards system for enjoying this old content. I’m not expecting, or wanting iLevel gear, but something that gets people out in the world doing all these old quests and dungeons.

A lot of you have probably been here for years and have already done this content, but for those who have started like me, other than achivements and the sheer enjoyment of bashing out quests - I really hope blizzard has a think about how their old content is presented, rather than forgotten.

I love that classic exists, but retail is such a better video-game IMO, hence why I’d love some features like this to bring back to enjoyment of zone hopping. Cheers.

You can actually do this by yourself for questing!

  • Create a second, free, WoW account. Don’t buy game time for it.

  • On that second account, make a character and level it to 10 or 20.

  • Log that account, log your main, make party by flipping between the screens and party sync.

BOOM! Your main is now level 10 or 20, same as your free account, and can pick up quests at level.

Minimise the free account window, and reduce its graphics and FPS to minimum so it doesn’t leech into your main screen performance.

Doesn’t work for dungeons or BGs because you’re in a party, but for questing it works perfectly.

However, I do note the difference between scaling yourself DOWN to 20 and scaling mobs UP to 60 - which may have some small plusses and minuses, depending what you are looking for.

However, Sevalar, while I respect your decision to stick with your main, and acknowledge that it’s entirely your prerogative, I would not miss the opportunity to try out other classes and races across the various expansions. Who knows? maybe you’ll find something new to enjoy.

This is kind of a big deal. The OP wants to play their main when doing the content, so not having access to most of their spellbook won’t do the trick.

that’s hilarious instead of all that they should delete chromie time and make whole world scale it’s easy but not for this company

Not having any form of NG+, max level scaling for the open world in a game where the entire open world is scaled is strange.

You can jump through garbage, immersion-breaking hoops if you don’t like oneshotting everything, but the whole point of why I’d be questing is that I want immersion. So it’s really not an option.

It’s not about consuming content, it’s about playing the characters we want, the ones we’re attached to. It’s not about dispassionate engagement with mechanics and seeing numbers and achievements, but about playing as the character that I want to play as. We are playing an MMORPG… in which, the first time you meet Thral could be in the Shadowlands prologue, where he’ll act as if you’re old friends. FFXIV handles this much much better.

they should just delete scaling and restore our true levels and stats and kill that crap crz as well

Yeah, the focus on alts is kind of boring. I always hate doing things twice in games, it’s a reason I hate roguelikes n stuff.

It’s not a tall order to work out some system surely, and I hope Blizzard will of heard the few of us who want this, or something similar.

I want all quests done on my main, not on alts - in a nice fashion, while enjoying the amazing world we have.

But it should go to 70.

I think one reason why Blizzard doesn’t want max level scaling for Chromie time is to push expansion sales and to focus the entire population in on doing 8 (eight) dungeons and 1 (one) raid as their entire experience with the game. This is not what the majority wants, so they all quit soon after a patch drops, they do the story and world content and wait for the next one.

Just let us have a “New game+”

It shouldn’t be hard to grasp.

Yeah for sure, naturally you’d have to level a first character through DF, then it unlocks a NG+ / expanded chromie time to max level for alts. I see no harm in that

Is there a trick to doing it? Cuz Chromie in Orgrimmar has no options for me :\ It would be AWESOME if I could activate it at max level.

Seeing these hoops really just makes me want to make a new warrior who will level through everything from scratch. I really hate having to alt tab and do all kinds of stuff just to play the game.

Blizzard should just make this work without having to party sync, and we shouldn’t be letting them off the hook because we can glitch the game into working the way it it’s supposed to.

Yeah, I appreciate the effort but this is just a band aid ‘solution’ and not really worth the effort. Just makes me want it more!
