You must not be very good since dispel, as the name suggest DISPELS drain life. LoL. Maybe it’s time to roll a hunter if priest is too complicated for you, then you can just ctrl-1 your scorpid and it will destroy the warlock.
Actually, I am aware that dispel removes the debuff. However:
The Haunt rune is rather popular in PvP currently, together with Corruption and the high cost of Dispel Magic it is rather hard to actually do anything besides spam it until I am oom, at which point I slowly lose since Life Tap is a thing.
I play other characters as well.
Now, you complain about the hunter pet (which has already nerfs announced for it). Personally I’d prefer if all specs that is over performing were tuned (and yes, that includes the healing on Penance which is a bit much currently). But feel free to add more ad hominems, if you really think that is a good look.
Can’t you dispel it? Consider it a dot. It has very long cd too
Yes it is dispellable. But not everyone plays a priest, and not all of my characters are priests.
Well unlucky. Stop crying. Yea give everyone way to interupt drain life, then give everyone ability to delete priest shield, rogue stun or blind, druid roots, desummon hunters pet etc.

Once you go out of range (20yds) then it is dispelled instantly. For many classes this makes master channeller trivially bad (e.g., with mage blink).

Oh so now you want a cheap spell that dispels all the warlocks dots, even the one that has a 15s cd and is pretty short ranged. I want a big nuke that kills all the enemy team in wsg when i press the N button.
Yes, I am aware of this. But what exactly are melee classes supposed to do? What counterplay do warriors, shamans and rogues have? How exactly will anyone be able to fight warlocks once they have access to Soul Link in addition to uninterruptable Drain Life?

Fair point. Anyway you can still dispell or outrun lock (if his fear wont make it first) from the distance making life drain a waste for next 10+ sec.

Warrior vs warlock currently is just a lost cause you dont deal enough dmg to outdps the warlock heal and cant run away either. Might as well just go /afk
It is pretty disheartening to realize that. Warlock was already the strongest PvP class in classic, and that was with a Drain Life you could interrupt. Giving them Master Channeler in its current form is simply too much.
So, next u will be complaining what counter play there is for rogue stun lock, what counter play there is for blind, what counter play there is for frost nova what else? Give every class means to counter warlock, what warlocks supposed to counter then, if everyone counters warlocks.
As mentioned before, u can outrange/dispell life drain. The arguments about mana are pointless, Master Channeler increases cost of drain life by 100%, just dispell it and it is on 15 sec cd same as haunt is 12 sec cd. If warlock tries to Life Tap he loses hp, so u have less hp to remove untill he is dead?
Also I mentioned in another topic like this, PvP is never balanced (if it is balanced at all) around 1v1 fights that’s all there is to it.
U just have to stop thinking about drain life like channel anymore, and think about as dot, do u kicks dots? - No, u dispell them.
I’m enjoying warlock a ton, but there is no defending drain life in its current form. There is no counter-play to it from any class.
Even if a priest manages to dispel it, they will go oom before I ever will, so its just a matter of time. No counter-play.
I wreck mages. Frost nova & blink might let them run for awhile, but sooner or later I’m getting them. No counter-play.
Warriors aren’t going to out-damage it, and they aren’t going to get away from me. No counter-play.
Paladins have the same problem. No counter-play.
Rogues might get away from time to time and run off in stealth, but they have no hope in hell of beating me. No counter-play.
Hunters can be a problem, but we’ll see how that changes after balancing.
Shamans, haven’t fought one yet, so no idea.
It either needs it’s mana cost increased to such that there is a risk of going oom when spamming, and vastly increase the health cost of life-tap so there isn’t an endless cycle between the two, or make it a casted spell rather than channeled. As fun as it is being a god in pvp, it’s not good for the general health of the game to keep it like this.
