Getting the wrong stats on a higher ilvl item is always not ideal, but with rings and necklaces, it’s worse because the item is just garbage now.
Upgrading from an ilvl 197 chest bis stats to an ilvl 210 chest with the wrong stats still feels good, even if it’s not optimal.
But if you loot an ilvl 210 ring with the wrong stats, you just don’t equip it and that shouldn’t be a thing.
Rings and Necklaces need main stats. I’ll never understand why they were removed in the worst expansion (Legion).
Actualy can we have all the removed secondaries back? Gear is so boring in modern WoW. You have 2 primary stats what are defined by spec you play anyway then 2 secondaries out of 4 and thats it. Where is resistance? Armor pen? Mana regen? CD reduction? WoW got to be most gutted rpg when comes to gear stats.
Balancing issues as simple as that. I would rather cut some stats then let developers waste their time simulating hours into the right stats. So let them focus on important stuff like content and not useless things like mana reg etc
Probably too hard to balance all these properties on 36 specs. They’d probably have to revert the design choice of specs being separate miniclasses to have all those back.
They didn’t when that happened to me - they were SINGLE main stat’s.
If a Warrior got anything BUT Str., it was vendor or d/e - that’s it… that what you want?
I quite like that rings and neck gives more secondary stats instead.
And secondary stats are so close now for most that a 10ilvl increase could be an upgrade even when worst vs best stats.
And I find primary stats to be boring now, they could just be baked into ilvl at this point.
How long would you like to see primary stat’s on Neck/Ring if all you got was Agi ONLY…??
Gear with all possible primaries was a change made at the same time as no primaries on Neck/Ring…
