I have zero interest anymore in continuously being reburdened with the same damn tank that already left the group twice or more after the first boss of Dawnbreaker or whatever instance is in question, knowing exactly that nobody is going to get more than 10 valorstones out of the run.
Furthermore, I do not want to be forced to start compiling a list outside of the game that I then have to cross reference every single time a random signs up to a raid I´m leading, just to make sure it isn´t one of these people that will then not only happily ruin 4 people´s evening, but that of 10-30 people. I don´t want these players to be able to sign up AT ALL, just like the ones that were already on my list that are probably mostly there for much less egregious but no less valid reasons, half of which likely don´t even play anymore, but still prevent me from ignoring these players that absolutely WILL ruin my group /guild´s evening if invited without batting an eye.
I understand the constraints of database size when extrapolated to millions of players. But this is IMHO completely unacceptable at this point. 50 chars (or apparently accounts now) is, with all due respect, nothing more than a bad joke when you´re getting grouped with potentially x hundred thousand or million different players.
Otherwise the only viable alternative will soon be to not offer up raidslots to randoms at all, because we no longer have any means of sifting out known bad apples in advance. It´s bad enough that my ignore list went from 6 or 8 characters to cap in under 2 weeks, exclusively with these run breaking tanks, especially as rarely as I even run random pug content… but I absolutely am not going to sit here and just act like everything is hunky dory and the deserter updates will magically solve everything when I´m starting to know some of the the bad apples by name and realm merely due to them breaking runs over and over and over again, just because they can.
But as it stands I´m completely powerless to do anything about it but accept that the queue for a specific dungeon will be a complete waste of everyone´s time for the x-th time…
If you actually read the post, you can see that for the better part of 20 years I obviously also did not use mine very much.
Many people have been calling for an expanded ignore list for over a decade at this point. I guess they were all “too sensitive”, too, eh?
You don´t have a problem with rerunning the first boss of the same dungeon for hours on end because your guild is sleeping but you still want to upgrade an item or 2 for something better, then good for you.
But your experience is in no way universal, as evidenced by the upcoming deserter changes, as well as numerous threads currently active on all WoW forums in all languages, and by numerous requests over the years by others to expand the ignore list.

I think ive got maybe 1 or 2 people on mine, and to be fair - Ive got no clue what they did or who they are! So im’a get em off the hook now. Cheeriooooz!
I agree with you. Because people can’t use it. Instead, they spam report everyone for simply talking. Which is a way bigger problem in my eyes. An automated BOT system that bans people left and right over nothing.
The people flaming you here, are the toxic weebs spam using this function as well. The real toxic ones.

You can believe whatever you want, that´s your god given right. Still doesn`t mean it has to be the truth.
On forums I only use it for people that obviously try to troll me because I have to deal with them enough when I AM getting paid for it, I see no need to deal with it off the clock. And ingame i only use it for people that REPEATEDLY act out of line… Nobody is on my ingame list for a single offense except for my ex wife.
And even if they were, it´s still none of your effing business why I put people there to begin with.
But none of that matters, because it changes nohing about the original statement, or the underlying issue, or the fact that this is by far not the first time it has been requested nor will it be the last. It is merely the first time I have requested it as a result of an unforseen ballooning to th epoint of being capped.
Oh , thank you very much, i did not know this addon existed, simply because until a few Hours ago I never would have expected it to be necessary and therefore it never dawned on me that ther might be an addon that expands it.
