Can we please have soloable world content?

I am in the situation that I can’t do group content, due to very unpredictable afk trips or simply short gaming sessions. My main focus the last few months have actually been trader’s tender, so thanks for that at least.

Due to the raised cap on trader’s tender this month I have to be a bit more spesific about what I do in the log, and I am actually not sure I can make the cap, but we’ll see.

My point though… world content. Visiting Dragonflight outdoor areas on my hunt for tenders is sort of a depressing situation. There are so many things I just can’t do alone(not tender related, but in general). Looking at all these events, rares and general focus I just feel locked out of. Yes, there are some events I don’t need to group up for(cooking with the tuskars, and the siege on dragonbane keep… at least before), but the fyrakk stuff, and even the event in the hourglass has been a pain to get done. And don’t get me started on the rares. Actually, the rares might be my biggest gripe.

Yes, this is an MMORPG. That’s actually why I play it. I am a chatty little bugger while ingame. At least when I can hammer the keyboard without waking little babies up. I like playing games where I see other players in the world. I like stuff like when there was a random guy from the Bloodhoof server telling me to wake up in /say after I had to afk right after killing a non elite rare he also went for. I had not escaped the keyboard yet. I saw my screen, but no hands free. I also love raiding and mythic+, but at this point in time, I am locked out of group content and progress through solo world content while still talking to fellow players.

So, I’d appreciate if some of the more interesting encounters were managable without organizing a party or raid for it. Some more of them, because some are, T least the older ones. I need to be able to be a disposable individual in groups like you can be if you join LFR or a world boss. Joining organized groups to kill rares or finish certain events isn’t a risk I take, because I don’t know if I have 5 minutes or 2 hours.

Zaralek caverns is actually quite depressing when you play alone. I feel like I encounter elite upon elite, and that there is no progress to be had because I go splat facing them alone. Yes, yes, gear upgrades. Have you tried upgrading gear when you play very little? It doesn’t go particulary fast, and otherwise I am fine with the gear I have. For non group content outdoors, my outdated gear is enough. Usually for trader’s tender too. I went on a boat trip in Thousand Needles last month.

Sorry for my rant. I’m probably overly dramatic. I just don’t get why so much of the outdoor content has to be group content too atm.

You can get champion track gear from doing the 5x heroic quest every week.

Well, that’s not really relevant to me.

Firstly, I can pretty much never do random heroics. Second, I don’t need or care for the gear for normal solo content.

It takes ages for me to upgrade anything with my play schedule, and therefore not worth sweathing over.

I just want to progress content. It doesn’t need to reward me any gear. Just let me kill rares and do more events without needing to organize a group. It’s outdoor content, which I prefer mostly being soloable, personally. I don’t feel like that’s killing the MMORPG spirit at all - spoken as one who struggle playing single player games because I like having other players around me, even tjough I don’t group with them

I do feel they dropped the ball with Zaralek Cavern rares a bit, it feels so strange seeing the current zone filled with rares that nobody wants to do, apart from the one that drops the mount.

If I can help, let me know. There are a decent number ofpoints in Pet activities, for example, that some directions and the loan of a few specific pets could get pretty quickly. And I could definitely help with some of the more regular activities.

This is a bit offtopic, as you are asking for more open world content.

Yet, you also mention you enjoy raiding and M+, so: There are multiple normal-raiding guilds, with a focus on the social aspects and in a situation where the members know people will have to go AFK or offline at ‘random’. If you find one of those, you will be able to more easily partake in lower-end content and be able to leave when IRL calls for it, or jump in as it fits. They will also be able to play with you during open-world content, as long as you accept this goes both ways. You might have to disappear - same goes for them.

Those kind of raids are not my yam, but I been in them. People go AFK and disappear, yet the raid keeps going in its pace. People join and leave. In the end at least it gets done - but it is not as fast as if doing a full clear with a raiding guild. Your best case scenario would to be in a raiding guild that got social clearing days - where you could drop in if it fits your Schedule for basically a boost (as you can go AFK, it would not slow it down one bit). Yet, that would require you to most likely already have been part of that guild social structure.

Raids and Mythic+ are especially efficient ways to get tenders requirements filled. It will also help you get better gear, so you can kill the rares and solo elements that you now are gear locked from.

Just do a post on your server forum asking for information on such a guild, or search up an ingame community in game. Often they are not guild-bound, but use the community tab to communicate and organise.

I hope you find some solutions and more content to do that fits your life :dracthyr_heart:

and next week it will even become completely pointless.
actually very strange that something like that is now completely destroyed. I had fun opening all the doors… but there always has to be a sense behind it…

Thanks. I was actually looking into trying the pet battles last night, but found out I had unlocked the last stage of the campaign, so did that instead(which counted towards the 30 quests done anyways).

I do not have any of the toys mentioned in the log either(and I thought I had a lot of toys), and I seem to have missed the fireworks stuff.

I kinda like the event ones in the log, but they can be a bit tricky to time. This week I missed the Blightboar concert, so didn’t get that one. I had to go afk 8 minutes before it started(the one time I had a chance at it), and was suppose to ask my other half to /cheer for me. I got so occupied with the baby that I forgot the whole thing, and came back to my character dead on the ground when the baby had fallen asleep again. It’s fine, but this is why I stay out of group content. I managed to get 1 timewalking done, but there is no way I can do 5 in a week. It is also very unlikely I can manage to kill 10 DF raid bosses, because I can’t even get to the world bosses every week!

But, I do really appreciate the traveler’s log. It has given me a sense of progression now that I can work on monthly, when raiding(which I love), isn’t an option.

I have a guild. I just happen to have a baby right now, so I am temporary out of it. I don’t mind this. I just do other things, but it also made me realise how much of the newer content is locked into grouping, and I am not sure that is a good approach personally.

Agreed. They went completely overboard with non-soloable content this patch.

If they think they’ll get people to team up this way: They’re wrong.

It can work, like it did in forbidden reach, that place was crowded almost constantly until the next patch, but the rewards have to be good, and 1/15th of a common gear upgrade item for spending a long time fighting a mob (Everything is a damage-sponge in Zaralek, not to mention annoying mechanics) just isn’t good enough.

Well as long as there’s no mandatory player power gated behind open world content, I don’t mind how much incentive they add to it.
But the SL situation where 9 in 10 people who chased rares hated it was far from ideal.

Sure, but that wasn’t a long time, really.
And the whole idea of that patch was: A mini catch-up patch, sort of.

Agreed.

The rares are also not really worth the effort. They don’t drop useful stuff. The mog can also be looted from the trash piles and gear isn’t better than WQ rewards, if you don’t care about the new dragon riding mount the patterns aren’t necessary to have (either way) and they crests are easier to farm by running M+.

At least for me, the rares would need to drop a significant amount of Niffen rep (like 200) to do them. Same goes for the world boss that is widely ignored (like 1000 rep standard + additional WQ reward), because it doesn’t drop gear often enough and acutally takes some effort to take down.

I’m not sure why they decided to kill the activity in Zaralek Caverns. Before the change people were always killing the rares in passing. If one was up it would soon be dead. I kind of expected them to revert it but they haven’t.

Now it’s a complete waste of time going to a rare unless you bring a friend or two. The only one that still gets interest seems to be the mount dropping one as others have pointed out.

Next reset the new patch comes.
