Churches and Cathedrals are and always have been a status symbol royals and nobles would compete to see who could build the grandest one and considering originally warcraft’s religion was a copy paste christianity one the Cathedral of light fits the theme the arch bishop even had a funny pope hat
I expected you to not feed the Vulpera memes.
Yeah. In our real world. That logic doesn’t have to apply to a fantasy world in a fictional medium.
We have flying Plateus on Azeroth. We have Islands which are basically a swimming turtle with Isles on its back. We have Portals that lead to other Dimensions and Timelines. We have Mages that can open fast travel portals to other dimension realms such as the Shadowlands. We have Dragons that can re-vitalise an entire landscape with their breath…
But a Warrior or a Paladin tanking with a 2-handed weapon is somehow unbelievable and ruins the fantasy.
i mean blizz is not stoping you from tanking with a two hander i mean go right away sure you’ll be booted because its not viable but
Hence why I made this post. Because it isn’t viable at all.
In the game the skill trees say “preferred weapons” on the spec summary. It doesn’t says “required weapons”.
So technically, it is also false advertisement in some way.
Not personally a fan of the idea… but whatever…
we get Tauren Rogues now, so I guess we need to be open to crazy ideas from time to time.
So, I suppose if you want to have a Paladin tanking with a 2-Hander.
I would like to have my Paladin DPSing with a Sword and Shield. I don’t really like 2 handers, which is why I don’t play ret.
That’s actually something I also asked for like 2y ago in the forums.
Edit: Alongside with being able to use Spear + Shield.
Forgive me holy Sir (assumed gender), but yeah I didn’t read it, I’ll leave you to it
I mean, Prot Paladins really do Pack a punch when it comes to DPS.
I have spent the entirety of Shadowlands as Prot, even whilst levelling and doing WQ’s.
But having a specific One-hand (or spear) and Shield spec, that doesn’t generate Threat, would be really really great.
I mean (by re-using someone elses logic in this thread here), it is also canon that Alliance Soldiers got trained in fighting that way and also doing combat tactics like a Phalanx or Shieldwall…
Yeh, that’s exactly my thinking.
I was just imaging, how cool it would be if we could drop pick a talent line which greatly reduced threat, but implement some cool holy AOE spells and CDs. Yet, still keep our tanking rotation. (P.s. I don’t mind tanking, so I’m not trying to get out of that. But I’m thinking about a cool way to be a Shield and Sword bearing DPSer.)
Googled it and didnt find one link to a discussion about 2H tanking on a warrior.
Well, then see it as opportunity to discuss in a brand new topic no one talked about before, I guess? After all, aren’t the forum people here always complain when repost happen.
You are correct… you want it… no one else does. Great discussion!
I said it multiple times: it ruins the class and its fantasy behind it for me.
RPGs does have choices and WoW excels in said choices.
- 11 races per faction with customization
- 38 specializations to pick from (if i counted correctly and added in Evoker aswell)
- 13 different classes with their distinct class fantasy / lore.
I am not upset, i disagree with your suggestion which you cant seem to handle because you keep trying to ‘‘convince me’’ to change my opinion.
So now class fantasy depends on who you ask and how you look at it?
Hmm okay, never seen this one before.
Yeah it would, thats a valid opinion in a suggestion thread about adding 2handed tank speccs to classes that dont have that in their arsenal nor do i think it fits within their class fantasy.
Which is a personal preference.
And i will quote you again, since you said it already:
Because somehow you can use this as a reply, but when i bring in the same line, it somehow is selfish / egoistic or not fair from me to deny people from playing a class differently.
Just get this: i disagree with your suggestion and i listed my reasons why.
And forums are places where people are allowed, and able to disagree with suggestions offered by other people.
