if they pay for a boost

Yeah, they pay with gold.
They do deserve to get sent the jail realm.
You aren’t wrong.

Do we need another topic on it though? lol.

Play on era realm, Problem solved. No boosts there

by boosted I mean insta level 58 boost, no one cares about gold boosts not really that much of an issue on golemagg alliance

So if someone buys wow tokens and exchanges retail for classic gold and then uses this gold to get mage boosted
(aka. he pays Blizzard $$$ and gets to skip the leveling)
this is fine.

But if someone buys a boost and skips the leveling
(aka. he pays Blizzard $$$ and gets to skip the leveling)
this is not fine.

Here is a simple question:

Why?

I’m starting to wonder if J Allen Brack was right all along. People thought they wanted WoW Classic, but in reality they did not.

What they actually did want is difficult to say.

For all the tireless Boost evangelists, pay-to-win enthusiasts, cash shop consumers and QOL disciples on these forums and the US forums I suspect that they actually wanted was mainly the chance to do 40-man raids once again.

I also suspect that if Blizzard had simply announced that they were bringing back 40-man raids into retail, a large portion of the Classic community would pricked up their ears, but not necessarily re-subbed.

Beyond ‘classic raids’, they were also looking for something else, but do even they know what they were looking for?

It certainly wasn’t the old world, it sure wasn’t the old quests. Was it the old talent trees? Maybe - a lot of people seem to like those.

So, we’ll modify our imagined Blizzard announcement to: “New 40 man raids, and re-implementation of talent trees”.

More people would likely be interested at this stage, so we’re getting there.

Was it the social aspect? Lots of people say they miss seeing people in the open world in retail, and then demonstrably proved they didn’t really, by boosting and spellcleaving themselves to level cap.

What about the social aspect of guilds and group play? Well not much of that if you raid log.

So what did people actually want from WoW Classic, if it’s not the zones, not the levelling, not the quests, not the social aspect?

Just 40-man raids, and talent trees? Or is there something more?

Maybe what they really miss is the way they felt, back in 2006? Maybe it really does come down to nothing but nostalgia and rose tinted glasses after all? Maybe people like me who claimed otherwise were utterly, completely wrong?

Maybe we campaigned for nothing?

Make fresh servers for those who want to be free of boosters and broken economies.

Just a couple of fresh (Non-transferable / no 58 boosts) servers, at least this way we could enjoy a fair few months of TBC without boosting / GDKP being being shoved in our faces

Server is fresh so no max level mages to boost. Also Mages will be garbage for boosting in TBC so if anything you mean Paladins. Answer from the first sentence applies to Paladins as well.

OP said send the boosted characters to new realms, not have fresh servers

Well a Fresh server would be less work for blizz. So that’s my answer - have a fresh No-boost server

I think you will find most classic players is in the “I dont really care if we get a boost or not” club

Cause its not something that will affect the game neither negative or positive, there wont be a influx of bad players due to it, and bots will most probably either not be using it, and if they do, blizzard suck at banning them anyway so it wont make a difference if they use it or not, the extra few days of being higher level is pretty insignificant when it come to the bots.
Thus higher level they are thus bigger chance that someone will notice them and report, so might even lead to quicker bans, who knows.

I got 6 lvl 60’s soon to be 7, and 8 once prepatch is out and i will level a shaman to be my main in TBC.
Leveled them without the use of mage boosting, i did get my rogue boosted to 38, and i havent bothered with it since.
And i dont really care, i wont use it, but it wont bother me if someone else does.

You won’t be using that same tone when profession supplies are through the roof, for example

Not really, because we’re all still playing MMO’s 14-15 years later
Its honestly not that hard, just put a few fresh servers up (there is soooo many DEAD ones in retail) and you could “easily” put a few dead classic servers together to make room for a few fresh ones.
That way everyone gets what they want. I honestly don’t know how people make it seem so difficult. What is annoying to players like me is these small but obvious changes would please alot of people but they’re not even talked about and maybe even considered. Yet changes that not many people would actually want/or care about are implemented? That has nothing to do with “nostaligia” or chasing old emotions, it’s simply poor managment by Blizzard behalf and there willfull ignorance to disregard all of us nothing more than an unimportant sub(Which is how alot of us feel). I don’t think i’ve ever actually seen a Blizzard employee in one of these forums for example.
