just saying… Why is there no social RP there and its dead anyway. why is there a point of a RP server when its not used for roleplaying… as much as I love to do roleplaying but…
I don’t see any point in RPing in classic server… why was a RP server even added in classic its just there…
do us a favor and stop hogging firemaw and gehennas as much of queues and play low pops for once too!
I’m afraid the RP’ers have mostly disappeared, which I mourn. I don’t do RP, at least not the “talk-talk-talk on the Bank stairs” or “snogging in the bushes near GS” types, but we have back-stories, stay in character and so on. It is RP, but only ‘soft-like’
I can understand you. I play on the german RP Server and sadly it is just there anymore. I do the last rp tavern but I think of ending it as of so less interest. There are real RP Events anymore too. For us the free transfers away made us have only 400 players anymore.
Yeah, the free transfers killed both HW and ZT. I really enjoy being in characer and having a back story, and trying to approach the world as a Mage that has seen Cataclysm and went back in time to prevent it would.
BUT wow endgame, no, wow game for me is 80% raids and 15% preparing for raids. And being on an RP realm without a guild that raids current content is like eating paprika powder without the meat and the side dish. It’s the sprinkling on top without the main item on top of which it sits. Pointless and kinda sad even.
Free transfer killed HW I agree, but ZT was already dead. It quickly turned into a streamer project, and died as they left, already before TBCC was launched.
I feel like we share a common cause, but I have to correct you here. HW was killed off before ZT. ZT was not dead until the transfers began.
While Ironforge should not be taken as gospel, it does give some information about the state of a server’s end game scene, and ZT had quite an active scene for longer than HW.
These graphs leave me puzzled. I was in one of the raiding guilds on HW, and they - not I - raided up until the day of free transfer. I played there, and the last month was not empty / dead as the IF numbers show. I actually suspect an error here.
But we sure agree that both realms became empty as a result of FCT.
And I think this was not a pull factor - other realms are better - but a fear factor: “This server migth be dying”, “we don’t know how long FCT will stay”, “Let’s get out while we can!”
I could not have said this better, you’re totally right.
I’m so happy that HW will remain! I purposely left some of my characters there before moving to MR with my guild - I couldn’t bring myself to completely leave it behind. That been said… I’m sad about ZT and Celebras, and their communities
I think Blizzard hat summed up all RP players on all realms, and though “well, might be enough for one realm, to have one a bit more healthier realm”.
I am rather sure, it is still BELOW there target of amount of players on one realm, but they were willing to listen to the community and try to give them at least one realm.
I might (if i keep my sub, not sure yet) come visit you on HW.
But i know many who don`t dare because they never learned english and won´t “dare” to go on an english realm.
Personally, i do not “dare” to interact with the english speaking community on Firemaw, too - i just do not know the slang and abbreviations.
I would be completely lost in dungeons… i am only there because of a friend.
You are very velcome on HW I at least speak some German, but of course my German is 20 years old, rusty and not gaming language at all. That’s tough enough in English, where Urban Dictionary is my big help I would still pull out my halting German near you, and be the cousin form the countryside
I am now keeping my sub, and won’t be needing the nice goodbye letter, I have been composing these last weeks
Well as far as I’m concerned, you and everyone else from the other RP servers will be welcome on HW! Now that I know that the server will survive, I’ll be splitting my time between HW and MR, hopefully join a guild again. I don’t know how many people are still here TBH, I logged onto HW for the first time in months this morning. I’m guessing that Horde side is still pretty dead though. We’ll see.
BTW, speaking of hot, the heat wave will be arriving here in Greece today, though it seems that it won’t go above 37-38 Celsius, which makes it very manageable. I’m expecting some 45 degree shenanigans in July - our poor forests (what’s left of them)
Personally, I think the three communities could work something out.
But i know this fear to suddenly speak a different language you never used (or never learned).
When our first external dev came to our company, to be trained in our project, my collegue told me "come with my, 'name* is downstairs.
Me: “in… english!??”
Colleque: Yes.?
Me: CRAZY???
Collegue: Btw he is supposed to help you, you will have to work with him…
Me:
well, i had no choice and it became easier and easier, but i think many germans will cancel their sub or go to an german realm :-/
Oh dear
I will not complain about our 35 the last days again…
I can understand not feeling comfortable due to the language barrier. I think that a great way to help with this would be to create a mixed-language (English + German) guild. It could be a bit confusing at first, but it would make the Celebras community feel welcome, and create an inclusive atmosphere rather than the usual general chat language arguments.
It would not be as possible for the ZT community though, as they would be lacking the world PvP element they want. Unless the ZT community also created some PvP guild with a requirement to always be flagged or something…
