Can we select the preferred language for group finder

I found myself struggling in getting applies when I put up a group in the group finder, (I’m starting to push 14/15 rn).

I just found out that since I have my client in italian my group is listed for italian language only, now I would love to be able to make my groups visible for everyone that has english as language flagged but have found that the only way to do this would be to set the client in english, and I’d hate to do that.

Don’t know if this is the right forum for this kind of posts, I aplogize if it’s the wrong one.

I had reported the same issue several times since WoD, but they never cared to fix it.
I use italian client too and I just accepted the fact that I can’t make groups because almost no one will see them.

This makes me feel sad. I rely on a friend with the english client to make groups for me and then leaving.

Pretty sure you can.

  1. Go to the LFG tool.
  2. Click find group.
  3. On the right side of the search bar there is a filter box, click it.
  4. Choose your preferred language.

However players can also filter your region, so if you’re in Italian servers and someone has Italian unchecked, then they won’t see your group.

Also you cannot filter your own region, for example English players can’t filter English and Portuguese.

I can filter to see other groups, but I can’t make mine flagged as an English group, it will be stuck in the language of my client

Yep, English players have to check the Italian checkbox to see your group.

This is a solution yes, but why should I do this? I will be forced to rewrite all my macros, WA and addon settings that require spellnames localized.

Also Blizzards allows to let me play the game in my language why should I be limited to what I can do in the game because of that?

Because they haven’t fixed it even though it’s been complained about for a long time? This suggests they’re not going to do something about it, so you’ll have to either switch language on the client or just deal with it.

I have all languages ticked on my LFG window and the only ones I don’t sign up for are ones in a foreign language because I don’t understand what the group is for and most of the time it’s people playing in German that write in their own lanaguage.

I know that people will need to have Italian selected on the LFG window, but as long as you’re writing in English then you should get people joining.

Not everyone ticks all the boxes and I write in english but really, if I do a group I maybe get 4/5 applies in 2/3 minutes, if my friends with the english client do the group we get something like 100

Unfortunately it is unlikely to change either it can’t be changed with the current set up or they just don’t think it is worth their time.
