Can we stop taking PvP rating if you lose BGs

I am trying to farm rating to get a Prized Gladiator Bow and I’m doing not to bad so far with the rating and managed to reach 1600. However, my rating is being reduced due to others mistakes and honestly its becoming irritating especially when your waiting in ques for 20 minutes!

Dont know if anyone agrees but I think the Mythic Rating system should be included for this -
In PvP, players are penalized with rating losses when they lose a battleground, even if external factors like poor team composition or random disconnects significantly impact the outcome. This creates an atmosphere where players feel punished for situations that are often beyond their control. In contrast, the Mythic+ system is relatively forgiving. A failed key doesn’t necessarily wipe a player’s rating; instead, it reflects that the player is on a learning curve and needs more practice to succeed at higher levels.

A Mythic-like rating system for PvP could be more forgiving by offering systems such as rating floors or soft resets to protect players from significant drops in rating after a single loss. For example, players could earn a “progression” score that gradually increases over time as they play more matches, regardless of the result, incentivizing players to keep trying and improving without the fear of constant rating loss.

Mythic+ dungeons offer clear and understandable progression. Each level of difficulty builds upon the last, and players can easily gauge their progress through the rating system. For PvP, the system could be similarly structured so players know exactly where they stand and what they need to do to improve.

Benefit for PvP: If PvP followed a more progressive structure like Mythic+ keys, players could have clear goals to strive for, such as hitting certain rating thresholds or achieving specific milestones over a season. For instance, players could work toward specific “rating tiers” within a season, with each tier providing rewards and recognition. This would provide clearer direction and help motivate players to continue participating, regardless of a single loss.

Mythic+ content, while challenging, allows players of various skill levels to participate without feeling like they’re shut out by an overly punitive rating system. Players can choose which difficulty level to pursue, allowing for a greater variety of experiences. The Mythic+ system is designed to allow progression without locking players out of content if they fail a key or fall short of expectations.

Benefit for PvP: In PvP, many players shy away from ranked content due to the high stress and fear of rating loss. If the PvP rating system adopted a similar approach to Mythic+, where players could choose their level of engagement—perhaps with different “tiers” of PvP content (e.g., Casual, Competitive, Elite)—then more players could find a niche where they feel comfortable progressing without the anxiety of losing too much rating. For example, players could start in a “lower-tier” rating pool to learn the ropes and build confidence, eventually progressing to higher levels of competition once they feel ready.

The Mythic+ system, despite its high level of difficulty, has helped foster a more positive and collaborative atmosphere in WoW. Because progression is incremental, players are generally more understanding of failures, and the focus is on improving as a group. When people fail a dungeon key, it’s viewed as part of the process, and the community tends to be supportive, sharing tips and strategies for improvement.

Benefit for PvP: Implementing this mindset into PvP ratings could drastically reduce toxicity. Players wouldn’t immediately jump to blame others when a battleground or arena match is lost, as the system wouldn’t penalize players so severely. The focus could shift from “I lost rating” to “How can I improve next time?” and “What did I learn from this loss?” This would help foster a more supportive, less toxic PvP community, where learning from mistakes is valued over blaming teammates.

The Mythic+ system has excellent tools for tracking progress, with clear indicators of key achievements and milestones. Players can easily see how many dungeons they’ve completed at different levels of difficulty, and they can aim to surpass their previous best times and ratings.

Benefit for PvP: In PvP, players could benefit from a system that tracks progress not just through victories and losses, but through other metrics like teamwork, objective completion, or individual growth in skills (such as increasing kill-to-death ratios or damage/healing output). Achievements or progress could be celebrated in the same way Mythic+ tracks progression, such as awarding titles, mounts, or other rewards for achieving certain rating milestones or performing well in multiple battlegrounds across a season.

I think these points above show that the rating in Mythic would benefit the game for PvP. Don’t know if anyone agrees but Im sick of working hard in a BG and have my rating reduced due a simple loss.

Imagine crying about BG Blitz rating when it’s the most welfare reward system in the history of the game

So you basically want Blizz to make PvP Rewards a grind instead of a Competition.

You are dreaming if you think this would imrpove the mood in PvP. Blizz nurtured the Toxicity themselves by not enforcing their own rules. In FFXIV for instance, Insults that get reported WILL get punished and thats why people are literally afraid to insult others or say ANYTHING hostile tbh.

All your “suggestions” will do is making PvP Rewards even more worthless than they already are.

or have the option to for hardcore. Or have the option to grind for the rating similar to Mythics

Just reading makes me question if you rly play m+.

I do and the system is far more better than the PvP. And reading your reply certainly shows that your the toxic players who think people should stay in their own lane

So have you ever heard of key downgrade?

Damn, you are assuming already. How toxic can you be?

yes im aware of key downgrading. It did happen to me a couple of times last season. but your rating was never penalised. Which is far more better than the pvp rating system in my opinion

So do you believe people were happy when their keys got downgraded or not?

That would pretty easily be seen as the same as your rating going down in PvP because you lost the game.
Only difference there, is that you can go into other peoples keys and brick them aswell.

no of course not but at least the rating wasnt penalised which is where I see the issue with pvp. Rather than taking away rating points the rating should stay as it is.

So how would you add the key downgrade into PvP? Since you are adding the ENTIRE m+ system, just not the only positive part.

Mind you, higher rating in PvP is equal to higher rating in m+. But they are not equally the same on both sides. So getting 2k or 2500 rating in m+ should not be equal to the same in PvP in terms of being easy. Its not NPCs you fight.

Meaning, 2500 rating in m+ is not the same as 2500 rating in PvP. They are vastly different because you face actual players.

im not adding the entire system im just saying that the rating system should be altered

So your system will be no punishments for loosing.
Can you tell me a PvP game that has that kind of system that works and alot of ppl play?

If it’s so much better, go back and play it then? This is by far the dumbest post i’ve ever read in my life, thanks - nobody

its posts like these which make me remember how much molly coddling blizzard are doing for casuals, the requirement drops on rewards…the wellfarepvp lfg brackets…UGH the simplified, well overtuned classes. Its -insane-

if you want to farm conquest maybe just farm your daily win and look for other sources of conquest if you’re worried about losing rating in a rated bracket.

or play an off spec you’re happy to throw away rating on.

i mean… it would probably improve it… ppl would play even more potatoe tho… probably
